just my theory, but i think he has CTE
Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy. This is a degenerative brain disease that is beginning to be found more and more often in the brains of football players, but is referred to as dementia pugilistica because boxers also have this, from getting hit in the head too many times. The only known cause of this disease is repeated blows to the head. Some high profile cases of CTE are Chris benoit (WWE wrestler) and Chris Henry (football player) and this young 21 year old college football player in this article: http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/09/14/thomas.football.brain/index.html?hpt=C2
The effects of CTE are poor decision making, erratic behaviour, DEPRESSION, use of drugs and alcohol and suicide.
I think that fits Ricky Hatton to a T and he has certainly taken enough headshots in his career.
there is no test for this disease while a person is living. time will tell if i am right.
Also...........
I say this all the time, but i believe that condition is why some fighters, like Meldrick Taylor, Riddick Bowe, Evander Holyfield, cant see the wood for the trees and refuse to retire when everything rational points to it being the logical thing to do.
If it can effect your decision making, personality, why wouldn't it effect your rationalization?
The effects of CTE are poor decision making, erratic behaviour
Sounds like what Bowe was suffering from, i read an article about Bowe, post Golota fights, he made some strange decisions which the article detailed.
