Imagine being in his shoe's, fleeing your country, family, friends, and never being able to return.
Alot of people say Boxing is all mental, so could this affect him in a bad way? Or even possibly giving him more motivation?
What do you guyss think?
:haha: :haha: :haha:
I feel sorry for that kid's intelligence. Entertaining in the ring though, I'll give him that.
and imagine if he had the support from family and friends at his fights?
I feel it could be a driving factor to succeed and then bring their families over from Cuba to where they are. I know Rigondeaux left all of his family to make money and bring them over.
It depends on the mindset, Gamboa, Lara and Rigondeaux all seem driven to achieve at a very early stage in their professional careers. I feel that some Cubans become lazy like Solis.
I would've voted yes, but that was until I saw the extra comment you added. Unless you're not training because of it... How can it effect his ability to take a punch?
I'm not in that situation, but what about your mother, father, grandmother, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, etc... wouldn't you miss them? Knowing that they are in a bad situation and that you might never be able to see them again is not a good feeling.
Gamboa left a life he wanted to get away from behind, but I doubt that even if he's with his wife and kids that he wanted to leave his friends and family behind too.
Exactly, he even said when he wins fights here he gets no love, where in cuba he was praised after winning AMATEUR fights

From how messed up Cuba sounds like, maybe he's happy. I believe he has his family over here with him too? If he does i would believe he wouldn't care about Cuba as much but if if his family is still over there then that could always be a bad factor..
