Did you ever in your wildest dreams think the once unbeatable P4P king Roy Jones Jr, would end up with 7 losses, & 3 KO losses? Being knocked out by once journyman Glen Johnson via brutal KO? Losing to a Aussie Danny Green via 1st round KO, the same Danny Green who cound't even KO Anthony Mundine?
You look at him at his best, whether it be playing with 44-0 James Toney, dominating WBA HW champion John Ruiz with ease, or knocking people out with his hands behind his back.
Can you imagine in 2/3 years time Mayweather losing via KO to former journyman, or being ko'd by overhyped ausse's?
Still shocking, i never fought i'd see roy jones jr with so many losses & ko's on his record back in 2002, if someone would of said it, am sure everyone would of burst out laughing.
sad....................
It's a fact and he pointed it out.
first off, he should have never fought hakkar and went on ahead and took the 60-40 split and fought jones for the lightheavyweight title...larry asked him about winky wright..he ducked and dodged that one...all larry was really asking him was wtf are you doing and why are they paying you..
No, I thought back in 02-03 that he would just be dominating guys until he was 50 and would either just retire or lose 1 fight then retire and ppl would say he lost because he stayed in too long.
this must have been after the hakkar fight...larry was spot on in the interview and nard didn't like it at all...
but hey his fans (the 3 or 4 of them that exist..lol) give him a pass for calling out welters and jr. middles....jones could have done the same thing and prolonged his career
Hopkins answered him in that interview, there you go.
No.

So FC Barcalona is a ****ty team because they don't win the Spanish league or Champions League every season?
You win some and you'll lose some. You guys really thought Roy Jones Jr could stop the hourglass and still beat people up the way he did in his younger days? Really?
No matter how Roy's career turns out today he will still be remembered for his greatness. He's a Hall of Famer and an ATG. Same goes for Toney and Hopkins. You can't erase history.
he's gonna have as many losses as wins in a minute

who would have thought djfagball would ruin a thread and turn it into a bash bernard hopkins thread  Nothing changes for djfagball, wakes up in the morning, drinks a tall glass of haterade, logs on to various boxing sites, searches the phrase "hopkins" then goes to work. Great one liners like "hopkins is a headbutting cheater!" "He's a weight drained cruiserweight fighting midgets!" "Get off deez nutz!" I wonder if he has these phrases stored in a notepad so he can quickly copy & paste them to save precious hating time.
oh no its nasa666 checking in on dese nuts....
i say it again...jones should have done what your graterford lover did, which is keep his weight down while waiting for big $ smaller men like trinidad, de la hoya and co. move up....nard is a con man, reaping $ and long term staying power, royboy could have done the same...
a guy with a superstar personality and a huge ego who relied on his extreme physical gifts? Yea I kinda figured this is how he'd end up, but against C level competition hes still the most exciting fighter in boxing.
You mean D level.

I knew that He was going to start loosing as soon as he got older. He banked on speed and reflexes intead of boxing skills and it was bound to happen. Wha( I didn't see coming was him hanging around after it did. I never saw him parading in some ridiCULO pirate outfit like a bird. That suprised me, I don't think he's all there now.
He was just selling the fight, it was a joke.

I'd guess 14 - 21.
You're right... I'm done.
Anyways.... Roy regaining the LHW title after winning the HW title was just as important as winning the HW title itself..

I wasn't expecting this on a boxing forum.
