Why don't Pacquiao fans buy his PPVs????

Pacquiao has 10 times as many fans as Floyd does, yet he sells half as many ppvs. Depends on area/demographic... But generally I disagree. Floyd is overall the bigger cashcow. People pay to see him win.. people pay to see him lose... but people pay to see him

Who gives a sh*t.. Floyd so conveniently started talking sh*t right after Pac had already agreed to the Marg fight..Before that he was on lockdown..Mr. Silent. Keep all your PPV #'s, ticket prices etc..Who cares, how about a fight. Im seriously at a point now where I should ask you in return, who gives a sh*t about the fight? It seems like there is only a minority of us that actually wants to watch Floyd vs Manny... The rest are either too busy celebrating and accepting the idea that floyd is on another vacation supposedly or defending floyd's choice on not fighting pacquiao because manny lost his chance the first time around by not taking the olympic style drug tests. It's a soap opera now and the best fight in the last 30 years is not even relevant anymore. :rolleyes:

Great point. Tyson got 1.55 million buys against Peter McNeely (fight lasted 89 sec) and 1.1-1.4 million buys in fights against the likes of Frank Bruno, Razor Ruddock, and Bruce Seldon... All this without a 24/7, which would've made those numbers skyrocket considering America's obsession with Mike's antics. Floyd without 24/7 wasn't as big a draw as Pacquiao because he was relying on his fighting style to sell fights. Every poll taken on the subject has shown that the vast majority of people who watch Mayweather fights do so because they're hoping to see him lose, only a small fraction watch because they like his style/skills. The bad guy persona and 24/7 has made a boring fighter a big draw, that's not necessarily the same as being popular. Can't compare Tyson to anyone.....not even ODLH. I realise ODLH has the record all time for PPV, but he couldn't generate over 500-700K unless he had a very credible dance partner.......Floyd, Tito, Pac etc etc. Tyson could do over a mil fighting a tomato can!! Tyson is known in every corner of the globe. Had he not gone to jail and was active those years Oscar wouldn't have half his PPV numbers. Tyson is the biggest drawcard the sport has ever seen.

in terms of PPV buys Manny is second to Mayweather which is pretty good. 700K buys against Clottey was unexpected. if Oscar would fight Clottey i doubt they would be getting 700K buys. the top PPV draws were all Americans, Oscar, Tyson, Holyfield and Mayweather all time if im not mistaken. Manny is not even American, nobody knew Clottey except hadcore fans. if you will look at the top 10 ppv buys all time you would see familiar boxers like delahoya, tyson, holyfield and mayweather which happened to be Americans. the only non American who drew atleast 700K ppv buys without fighting a TOP DRAW was Manny Pacquiao and did it 3 times. against Hatton, Cotto and Clottey.

Floyd's numbers are better than manny but not for the reasons floyd fanatics tend to throw around! So the big numbers "floyd vs mosley" fight generated had nothing to do with mosley? His name ans resume' didn't help sell that? You fools acting as if EVERYBODY spent money just to see floyd..lol Pacquiao did manage to do 700,000 by himself against clottey who was an unknown to the general public..especially in Dallas! The answer is virtually none for the reason stated above. Considering the population in the US is over 3 times as much as it is in the Philippines it would be considerably less. And I don't think it would be as bad as you say where virtually no one would buy it there.

most of pacs fights in uk are shown on sky and even before that on setanta before it went bust. i think the de la hoya and hatton fight are the only ppvs ive had to buy. i paid for floyd-oscar and floyd-hatton aswell. i think floyd-jmm marquez was on sky but i cant remember i watched it at a casino
