It seems he doesn't enjoy boxing very much. He just doesn't have the heart for it.
That's why he fights on average every 8 months, on average LESS than twice a year (twice in 2008, once in 2009, and he will fight twice in 2010).
But as far as retirement goes, he's lying again, he won't quit boxing at age 30. He'll probably milk his paper WBA title for a few years, while fighting older, slower opponents like Evander Holyfield and perhaps Danny Williams.
Don't forget about the Tyson Fury Superfight :-)
I know it is not realistic and only wishful thinking on my part. But, I hope that Harrison is the one to retire him with a good old fashioned a$$ whoppin. Wouldn't that be sweet and I very fitting end to the career of the "Noisemaker"? Sorry, I was dreaming again.

Great news! Klitschko's will finally get to add the WBA belt and comlete their collection and write unique boxing history before they retire! HA!
Some boxers minds are just wired differently. Haye, and Khan are similar. BH and Evander Holyfield are the other end of the spectrum.
I suppose the ones who retire older love the game more. But i thought boxers would retire when the time was right and they knew it. Boxers are usually the last to know, wanting one more fight. But not haye. He can still talk good and he wants to remain like that.
Maybe a bit scared. But hes human.
Haye will stay in boxing so long as there's easy money to be had. If that involves fights with Holyfield, Tarver, Dimitrenko or even someone like Hasim Rahman then he'll still be around, callin out dem Klitschkos, pullin out of dem fights, the cheeky wee scamp.
Dont know about that, I use to like him because he would fight anyone but since he got to the top he has become just like all boxers when they get to the top, He has been banging on about retirement for a while now and he has also been talking about MMA or UFC for sometime now...Basically his career at HW is becoming something of a joke now.
Who really cares about sticking to an unrealistic goal that you set yourself back when you were 17yo?
And, does it sort of sound like Haye is maybe reconsidering retiring by 30, going by the last sentence in that article?
Amazing that it took till page 4 of a thread to see a comment from someone who actually read the article. I think it's a pretty **** headline for the article considering the only thing Haye says about retirement is that his original plan for retirement (made when he was 17 years old) at the age of 30 nows seems pretty unrealistic considering how he physically feels now he is approaching 29. Haye will go on to fight at least one Klitschko, I'm 100% sure of it.
Am sure he will, He has been saying this **** for 2-3 years now, He only wanted to be a HW champ defend a couple of time and then retire when he turns 30 or 31.........And this guy was suppose to be the future of the HW!!!

This. Doesn't sound like he's going to retire imo.

You are right, he still can make some gay ****. What the ****?? Why is the word p-o-r-n not allowed?
Why would you want to watch a gay adult movie with a guy who keeps pulling out citing back problems?
I hate to say this but ... David Haye does not need Boxing! He is like really the only guy I know who doesn't

:lol1: I feel embarrassed to say this but I never even got to see him fight.
But if a guy who hasn't done much is already announcing his retirement who would even support his next fights? Wouldn't the overall perception from his bosses be along the lines of either 'take a big fight or save yourself the time and retire now'?
