Mayweather is a defensive and offensive mastermind. I cant stand the guy , he is an *******.
But he would oubox Marg. he would outbox Marg with one hand. The defenseless potato sack can only dream of a pay day.
It would be like DLH vs Mayweather , except marg will not be landing anything. Instead , he will be used as a punching bag
Agreed, Unless Margarito somehow develop a speed increase in training he couldnt and wouldnt land anything, He would get tied up whenever he gets close and he would miss and get countered while following Mayweather around trying to land like a mummy, It would be another one of those boring Mayweather UD.

Same reason I picked Cotto over him. Pac is going to be there to get hit and that makes it much more exciting and competitive than a Floyd fight with Marg would be.
Cotto boxed his head off until the plaster dried. Margs cant knock u out with a clean shot to the chin but will break your ribs by the end of the fight.. Im not buying that bs... With that boy Pacman, in the 5th round his ass goes down
well considering it would have been before the mosely fight, i think marg would have loaded them gloves to the fullest and plastered floyds ass......
I agree Margo would have shown up fully loaded with plaster soup running down both his arms, but he would've missed too many shots to
win it.
I think Marg would have given Floyd alotta trouble a big strong 5 11 welterweight who can throw all night.Like Floyd was in the early rounds in my opinion having trouble with Ricky just because Ricky was crowding Floyd but all he was throwing was like 30 or 40 punchesat Floyd now Floyd later figured Hatton out but Hatton is not a big strong WW as good as i feel Luis Collazo is he aint a big hitter but he had Hatton in all sorts off trouble in their last round. Now imagine Margarito in the middle rounds cranking his punch output up to the 100 mark walking Floyd down testing his will i think it would have been unbelievably close in 2008 with the Margarito that fought Cotto against Floyd 08

LMFAO good one...
Before the Mosley fight??I always thought Margas style would have giving May trouble what do you think??
all you gotta know is floyd retired to duck margarito.
I think he was a stylistic nightmare for Floyd. Floyd wouldn't have been able to hurt him, so Margo would walk through his shots, cut the ring off, and throw with reckless abandon all night. I figure Mayweather would likely dominate early, but as the fight progressed I would expect Mayweather to take increasing amounts of punishment. He probably would have walked away with a decisive win but he would have taken more damage in that fight than any other in his entire career and he had no desire to deal with that.
I agree with this post..I think May most likely wins but not as easy as some think..He had troubles with JLC because of size and the fact that he could not hurt him...Margas is even bigger and(Maybe he did have loaded gloves)a harder puncher and far more willing to take a punch to give one..And Margas throws punches from everywhere hard guy to time even for May..IMO not an easy fight for May based on styles...
i think we're all in agreeence, Floyd wins by ud. Margarito prolly gets shut out due to lack of defense and speed. Same reason why Pac is gonna eat his food.

Margs would have likely finished strong on his feet winning a couple if not a few rounds due to his virtual non defense and slow methodical pace. Unlike Pwill's relentless toe to toe offense, Floyd would have used the ring more and offered lateral movement.
Marg would have missed plenty shots and eaten straight right counters in addition to getting tied up along the ropes.
Not sure he or his people would have requested an immediate rematch.
No doubt Margs chin would hold up, though.
We will never know as Mayweather did not want to be in the same ring as him.
honestly i remember when Larry Merchant was pushing that fight, I wouldnt have fought him either. He was an unknown. I didnt watch him fight a full 12 rounds till P Will.. Now Cotto, i believe was a blatant duck.
Im with this guy on this.
What people need to realise is however much u hate him (and i do) and however much u want him to get whooped, he is the best fighter on the planet, one of the best that ever did it infact. Tony would be mad to look like a drunk hobo lookn for a lucky punch

floyd would of outclassed him easily, too quick, too smart of a boxer for margo

Probably following him around the ring trying to cut off the ring without too much success, He would have too much problem landing because of the speed difference, I dont think he would have done any better than Mosley or Baldomir.
