With Manny Pacquiao agreeing to undergo the blood tests that Floyd Mayweather Jr. wanted, and with Mayweather still refusing to accept the fight, Pacquiao's trainer is left to believe one thing: Mayweather is afraid of losing.
Mayweather's career record is 41-0-0, with 25 knockouts. Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's trainer, thinks the 33-year-old Mayweather is solely concerned about maintaining that perfect record.
"I think he just wants that zero on his record," Roach said on Into the Night With Tony Bruno, according to SportsRadioInterviews.com. "As long as he's undefeated he can argue and say he's the best fighter ever, he's as good as Sugar Ray Robinson and so forth, and he can make that argument as long as he doesn't have that loss on his record. I think it's more important for him to stay undefeated than fight the best guy out there."
Pacquiao, despite three losses and two draws in his career, is considered the best fighter on the planet. A matchup of the greatest vs. the undefeated is one for which the boxing world has clamored for more than a year. Unfortunately, it's something that seems destined to never happen.
"It's a shame," Roach said, "and I hope the fight will happen, but I'm worried about that because the only thing that can get motivated is money, and they offered him 40 million dollars. If that's not enough money I don't know what is."

I give one thing to floyd though,he's a genious when it comes to promoting himself.Add a pinch of steriod accusations,a spoon of racism...now you have the perfect recipe to get the publics attention.Ppl's ear are ringing, "floyd said what?" "Oh he crossed the line" its extra drama.
ie: When benard hopkins threw down the PR flag at a press conference against trinidad. He had those puerto ricans mad they could of bought the ppvs that night just to see his ass get kicked.
Imagine if theres a rematch clause for floyd? You know he has one.$100 million+ ?
Bottom line is floyd is the guy i would take to the Maserati dealership so i wont get skunked.
Yes indeed, and since Roach has telepathy and can readily read Mayweather's thoughts it's clear that he wants to preserve his 0. I'm sorry, but to treat a quote of the trainer of a fighter that Floyd might one day face as if it's gospel makes no sense whatsoever bro. Floyd's a businessman and I can almost guarantee he cares more about his share of the purse, more than he does his undefeated record. When you're fighting at his level with his notoriety records, entourages, and other non-issues are meaningless. It instead becomes all about the rewards since we know what the risks are.
His record is nothing more than a prop he uses to sell himself, if he loses to someone, expect him to try to sell that too.
