His last one against Julio, that is. All I can say is Wow! This guy comes to fuckin' BANG. :box2: When does he make his return? 'Tis a shame he had to do that dumb stuff to get himself landed in the clink, but what an exciting fighter he is to watch. I'd love to see him do his thing with guys like Angulo, Williams and Pirog.
Southpaw punchers always get my attention - Urango, Pacquiao, Ortiz, Bute, etc. Being a lefty myself, I'm always looking at their styles to see how I would go about things if I ever gave this boxing lark a try. Gotta get inspiration from somewhere, right?
"Dunkin said Kirkland weighed 173 pounds at last check with his clothes on and would have no problem getting close to his weight class of 154 pounds once he begins serious training."

Not only that, but he's had a solid amateur career.
If you take a look at his record, there's barely, if any, opponents with losing records. So you see his KO ratio and it isn't bullsh!t.
James Kirkland is a beast.
I hope he still looks that way when he gets out, rumor has it he's blown up to 200 pounds and wont fighting under Anne Wolf's tutelage.
I heard he weighed 173(with clothes on) last time they checked.
I think he needs a better trainer anyway.
Joe Goosen would be perfect.

Yeah, I heard about that too. I'd much prefer to see him fight at 154/160 than all the way up that high...
I don't know why it's taken me all this time to get around to watching one of his fights, but I'm glad I eventually sat down and did so. I need to start getting back into watching more of these up-and-coming names, because I've felt a bit lost in the shuffle lately - like I'm not in the loop with some of the young guys who're getting attention.
