I was of the belief that Pacquiao was too fast for Margarito and he would just move in and out while tagging him at will, but I can't keep acting as if Margarito will respect Pacquiao's power and Manny is some sort of defensive genius.
Margarito won't just stand in front of Pacquiao letting himself get picked apart and giving Manny a rest period. He's going to be walking Pac down nonstop and throwing 4,5,6+ punch combinations even when he's out of range.
Mosley was smart and strong enough to hold Margarito every time he was in range to land. And after he held, he'd walk Margarito backwards to tire him out.
Can Pacquiao do this constantly? If not, how is he going to keep Margarito at bay?
Pacquiao doesn't seem to have the lateral footwork that it takes to keep Margarito off balance and on the outside. Nor does he have an exceptional inside game where he can block punches if he does get inside.
He can throw tons of punches like Williams, but Margarito will only wait for so long before he says 'A la verga guey' and forces his way inside. Margarito is 5'11'' and his main punches are the straight right hand and left uppercut, they will work well against a shorter southpaw.
If Margarito can get to Pacquiao's body early, it'll get very interesting down the stretch.
I still think Pacquiao will win because Roach is a master at game planning and if he has Pacquiao going to the body early, all of the above will be annulled, but if not this will be Pacquiao's toughest fight since JMM II.
Cotto 's stamina is great, he's just a level below the elite stamina fighters. Even in the rounds he got on his bike against Mosley he kept up his punch rate and that was after taking 200+ power punches against Mosley.
When you get a chance to, compare the Segura fight to Cazares I and Iribe fights. No difference in the pressure put on an older Calderon, but huge in the way the fight progressed.
.............Just no Lol
No, your just jumping to conclusions.
I think the reason any fighter loses is always a culmination of factors, and yes Marg was banging his body throughout, but Cotto has never had great stamina, from the times when he got on his bike against N'Dou, to the time he got on his bike against Mosley.
Haven't seen the Segura fight yet so i can comment on that.

So you're of the belief Cotto got tired from pressure?
Why does everybody think sh!t like that? I'm starting to think that Mayweather is right about people that haven't stepped in the ring not knowing what they're talking about.
They're called body shots, they wear people down and take away energy.
If Segura wouldn't have touched Calderon to the body every chance he got, Calderon wouldn't have been quitting when he did. Cazares, Iribe, and most Calderon opponents before them all head hunted in their fights and got decisioned for their efforts.
Cazares put even more pressure than Segura, but what do you think was the difference?
This isn't chess, it's checkers.

Help!!! I'm Starting To Think Margarito Has A Shot!
Yes, i would seek professional help. You're obviously suffering from Boxingscene-itis, a rare for of dillusion that manifestates when you read to many nuthugger posts. Just for sh!its and giggles, I'm offering a 1 time bet of 50 million points on Pac>margo.
I saw all the margo fans bragging about how great he is, but they all want like 5:1 odds...:hysterical: What's up with that kind of faith in your "hero"? Pm me for offer.
You know i recently re-watched Cotto-Margarito cause my girlfriend had not seen it, now its easy to forget just how close that Cotto-Margarito fight was until Cotto capitulated under the pressure, IMO there was only 1 round, 2 at the most, separating Cotto-Margarito on the scorecards, not official scorecards, but my own interpretation, now i ask you, what happens if Cotto does not begin to gas in that fight and becomes a more stationary target for Margarito? cause im telling you now, and you can re-watch the fight yourself, Margarito only gets off when Cotto languishes on the ropes, or holds his feet too long, only Pac wont do any this cause he can keep moving and punching.

No, I won't change my mind. Margarito will lose badly. The only way I can see him doing anything significant is if Margarito traps Pacquiao on the ropes and Pac doesn't hold like usual. Even then Pacquiao can hurt him, the little bastard is a hazard in any part of the ring.

ive said it before, and ill say it again, pacquiao has to fight smart... in and out, flurries to the body, dont get crazy for headshots, careful with the uppercuts.......if he doesnt, margarito is gonna give him a hard fight....
he'll do that for the most part.
knowing manny though , he'll trade with marg too.
so he might give marg a few chances.
@OP..You also thought Yuri Foreman would beat Cotto so its hard to take you seriously..
he probably thought cotto was shot.
i thought cotto was shot too.
obviously he still has something left in the tank.
His first two losses arent relevant.marg ent no morales,no matter how big he is
if that's the case then , moving backwards is irrelevant too since he's actually never been beaten by a guy moving backwards.

It will be a hell of a fight while it lasts but manny will win-people need to realize guys that come forward and are easy to hit will not beat pac, they are made for him
Granted marg is the bigger man and if he had any sort of defence im sure he could give manny trouble, but he doesnt,so he wont
the 3 guys that beat pacquiao beat him going forward.

I may be making it out to be more simple than it is but....
Pacquiao will be first. In every exchange. It will discourage Margarito. We can't pretend like Pac can't keep up with Margarito's work rate.
I guarantee Margarito's average work rate will be cut in half against Pac. Not cause of Pac's defense, but because he will continually beat him to the punch. Margarito will spend half of each round simply resetting.
It will be a merciless beating.
margarito has got pressure manny pacquiao like crazy and takes his power shots and attack the pacmans body in the early rounds to at least try and slow down his non stop attack i'm expecting a helluva of a fight come november and i give margarito a good chance to at least scare manny and freddie roach and i would not be suprised to see antonio margarito at least knock him down too its thats a good of a fight

I feel bad for anybody who is actually buying into the hype for this fight - just like Arum hyped up Clottey - Pac. This fight will be no better.
Margarito has a very slim chance to pull out a victory and it's very probable that he will be stopped mid to late for the TKO.
Manny is too fast for him and his stamina is unmatched.
I will pay $5 to watch it at the bar, but I'm not expecting a good fight.
