I am starting to really worry about this fight. It's supposedly 3 1/2 weeks away and there is no location set and you don't hear anything apart from "insiders" who claim it will definitely be postponed. I don't care whether it takes place on Sept 25th or a few weeks later, but finally some news would be nice...
Vegas would be most ideal for a neutral location, or MSG (possibly pro-Dirrell being East Coast) and i can't see these two fighting in an empty arena anywhere in the US. Ward may be the bigger draw (not proven fighting at home all the time).....but they are among the biggest US star boxers out there.
It's only fair for Ward not to fight at home again....this is the semi's....can't afford no hometown cookery like in previous bouts...
That statement is what I agree to. They didnt have to agree to let Ward fight at his home and now want to change it, they should have never agreed to it in the first place.
im pretty sure it was only the group stages he was aloud to have at home, with Kessler withdrawing its now the semi finals, so Ward doesnt have to have his fight at home.
Neutral location, Froch AA is in a neutral location (Monaco), Vegas would be best for Ward Dirrel.
that's some pussified action on Wards part..everyone should get atleast one fight away from home...
Detroit or neutral grounds would be nice..
I like Dirrell moreso than Ward, but he hasn't shown he's a draw, Ward has.
From Ward's opponents' the only one that's actually shown he can draw is Kessler and that was in the first round of the Super Six.
And it's not about what's fair either, they did whatever method they did to select who would be fighting where and Ward got lucky. You can't go back and try to change the rules that was accepted by everyone in the tourney.
I rather watch a fight with the livest atmosphere possible than some empty, quiet arena, especially for as big a fight as this one.
