+1. Its ironic how everyone thought cotto had taken the bigger part of the punishment, yet it turned out that it was margarito. Make no mistake that the fight ruined both of them, but margarito lost more that night.

I just rewatched that fight and man oh man did Cotto land some SERIOUS flush bombs. I thought they were just arm punches but Margs head was flying all over the place. No normal man can take that may hard bombs and be the same afterwards. He was unleashing 4-5 power combos over and over. I decided to watch the fight and only focus on what Cotto did. He ruined Margarito. Margarito won the fight but he lost the war. Hah, I've said this forever and have been donning a firesuit since. Nice to see others coming to the same conclusion.

Yes, there was oodles of pressure, but Cotto was constantly snapping his back with clean and accurate punches. So I'm sticking with this scorecard. I watched it very carefully this time, and even re-watched some rounds just to be sure (particularly the ninth, which I ended up reversing). Yeah weird...I have to re-watch cuz i cant remember times when Marg landed cleanly so much to swell Cotto up like that..Even in replays Marg didnt look he did much..Interesting nonetheless..

Mosley gave him a much worse beating than Cotto did. Shane was loading up on his shots with his feet planted, punishing Margarito to the body and head. I remember one sequence, I think the 3rd round, when Margarito walked through 2 huge right hands where it almost seemed like he rolled against the punch rather than with it. Was Margarito really that declined going into the Mosley fight (Doug Fischer also said Margarito had a terrible training camp)? Or simply going up against a different style of fighter and really mentally distracted since the fukker got caught right before the fight trying to load his gloves? I was one of the few who called Mosley/Margarito properly because of shanes clinch. he'd never let marg off. I had no idea it would be a KO though, just that Marg would never get off because he'd be clinched a lot. That beas a brutal beating.... shane was putting absolutely everything on marg. he was loading as if he was hitting a heavybag after a bad arguement.
