Benny Paret called Griffith a maricón (Spanish for the F-word). There was continued speculation over Griffith's sexuality— a kernel that loosely grew into more solid proof after Griffith was badly beaten on a New York City street, allegedly after leaving a gay bar.
Sport Illustrated also reported he was gay.
But is there any truth to it and should he get an asterisk?
*Emile Griffith
yes or no?
What are you guys thoughts?

Asterisks *: To give emphasis positive or negative to an achivement a person has made outside of the normal.

So why dont you explain if you meant positively or negitavely in the opening post.
"An asterix" usually has connotations of being negative and you knew that. I guess you just crave a reaction
This is one of the most retarded threads ever created. An asterisk for being bi-sexual? wow! The fuck does sexuality have to do with boxing?? An asterisk is usually used for someone or team that cheated, or if something was seriously debated. Berry Bonds home run record get's an asterisk. A game with bull**** referring or calls gets an asterisk. A fighter being gay or bi-sexual?
So i guess you are going to vote no?:soapbox:

Who cares if he is Gay and why should he have an asterisk next to his name? Now I don't like homosexuality, but I'm tolerant and have no issues of people who chose to live their lives that way.
I really wish we could live in a world were people could be who there are without being bashed or criticize....especially if they aren't hurting anyone. I mean what's to point of sh1tting on someone for living their lives the way they want? Is it affecting you.....I doubt it, so what's the problem.
Honestly the more gay dudes like him.....mean more pu$$y for me, or atleast that's what I think when I see Gay dude.
I still don't understand the point of this thread?
Why an asterisk?
Can somebody explain what this thread is about to me
Seriously....wtf? Im making jokes but there are people here who are actually debating this bullsh.it. An asterix? WTF?
Its clear that he had some mental problems.
Comissions should not lisence people, their main objective should be to guarantee the fighters health and safety. In this case they have obviously failed.
What exactly was his mental problem, Doctor Morales?

Homosexuality = Mental Failure?
Hey if Floyd Mayweather came out to be openly gay...My god the drama that would bring to the sport. and he would get an asterisk. People would always assoicate that with him.
Mayweather prefers to keep it a secret so he feels dirtier when hes doing it.
Yes.
The boxing comissions have a responsibilty not to lisence boxers who are unfit mentally to be in the ring. For me Griffith should never have been lisenced.
LMAO!!!
:lol1:
Damn let us know how you really feel
