Quitting infront of his people in his homeland, and i thought cotto's knee was worse :nonono:.
This guy simply quit and didn't bother to get up, this is what happens when you don't take your training serious and take your opponent serious :nono:.
Congrats to Segura.
She is a Mexican=Puertorican girl and I have her in my avatar as a Symbol of Union between Mexico and PR thats the main reason why I hate when a good fight between 2 great champions gets dirty and full of crap with fans that disrispect a boxer just because he did his best and lost to a great fighter. When Puertorican boxers beat a great mexican fighter we dont come back here to disrispect the mexican fighter this is ridiculous and it is a low blow to the members of this forum that trully appreciate boxing.
i like that im both mexican and puerto rican
c'mon man, let the mexicans have a little fun... at least for a week.
boxing has always played on the nationality of fighters. the PR/Mexico rivalry is one of the best in boxing.
More people need to discuss boxing instead of writing slick race comments.... Just saying o.0.
The problem is that NSB is filled with a bunch of man childs (18 and up years old who speak and act like a 14 year old kid). There should be like a private section for a bit more serious fans.

Congrats to Segura.
He was in a tough fight and got beaten down by a tough opponent. It happens. Had he gone down without a fight it would be fit for criticism, but that fight was great. No beef with Calderon staying down. Credit to Segura for making him stay down.
Calderon was more exhausted than hurt...that last assault by Segura not much landed, Calderon had nothing left, similiar to Cotto.......Miguel took a far worse beating tho
I don't agree with this post at all.
Calderon did all he could for years with no pop. So what he got hit with a huge body shot.
I think it's a wonder with his physical stature and lack of pop he did so well throughout the years.
And he traded with a puncher when people thought he would run away.
He didn't.
Add to that, if you keep fighting eventually you will lose to a younger, hungrier fighter.
What d **** do you know about Ivan Calderon you probably watch him fight last night...... you are nothing but a bum........
Cazares............. bah all of Ivan challengers were stronger than him most of the time and had punching power but Ivan was the better boxer even Segura admitted this today in Primerahora.com... if Calderon had a punch he would have won that fight.
Your avatar makes my eyeballs pop out, who is that?
It's easy to tell you never took a liverpunch...
Segura systematically broke Calderons small body down with body shots for the whole fight, no need to disrespect someone who has a history of fighting (and beating) much bigger and stronger guys for his whole career. The guy is a legend, in my opinion. Also much respect to Segura, very good gameplan and it's not easy to make Ivan Calderon look that bad.
Why would he be ashame? They train ricans how to take knees during training at PR its a normal thing for them.
I guess mexican train to land face frist on canvas ???
I'll give you this. You ducked that question better than Margarito ducked Mosley's punches.
Nonetheless, it's not the best Puerto Rico can offer. Juan Manuel Marquez has beaten every Mexican he has faced.
Keep in mind, I'm Mexican, so don't feed me that "You're a dumb Puerto Rican" ****, because you'll just further lose credibility.
Both countries kill in the sport and produce champions. Grow up and move on.
juan manuel marquez is mexican u dip****
pinche chaparro le dieron en su puta madre por cobarde y correlon
viva mexico!
segura beat the hell out of "i run boy" calderon and made him say no mas papa
I don't think calderon needs to be ashamed. he was fighting a mexican.
A hungry, crazy, wild Mexican who had nothing on his mind but throwing everything he could to win the fight or go out on his back.
Props to Calderon for at least sitting there and giving some back when he could but I think he only did that because he started to feel the body work kick in and thought he would try to put Segura down.
Not to change the subject here but did anyone else here listen to the announcers and how they were talking about how he (Segura) looked tired and weak at the weigh in and before the fight?

lols!!!
come on man, taking knees is a part of the game. if you're hurt you gotta know how to take a knee to get a breather.
Calderon is probably the most technically skilled fighter right now in the sport next to Mayweather imo and Segura a "raw and face first mexican" beat the sh*t out of him decisively and made him take a knee like every prizefighter from Mexico makes a prizefighter from PR do. Stop b*tching Ricans, We're simply just ooh so much better than you guys.
Calderon might be a skilled genius for all i care, but he doesn't have heart.
the way he went out says it all.
