I'm assuming that after the shambles last night, Toney might realise he's not cut out for MMA... so, will he make a return to boxing? Or retire on the pay day?
If he was to return to boxing, who could he fight that would be worth fighting? The only fights I could see him getting would be fights with the likes of Hopkins or Jones, and I doubt they would recieve much public interest after the Hopkins-Jones rematch.
So, what do you think James Toney will do next?
Oh, and Boxingscene (The Mod), before you close this thread, it's a boxing thread, not an MMA thread.

well he did weigh in at his highest weight EVER last night so perhaps it just shows that his heart is not in fighting anymore at all. At least he had SOME chance with that weight in the MMA but in boxing coming in that fat and useless he wouldn't stand any chance at all so retirement is best for him. He just turned 42 a week or two ago
fight kimbo slice...............
that would've been a more realistic mma debut......
but a kimbo fight would be a seller between the two who couldn't cut in mma.
hopefully he still boxes...i dont care if he wins or loses...he cracks me up...he is the greatest of all time in my eyes...he could still fight many heavyweights but how many does he beat? thats the question...hes a fighter & thats what he likes to do..
James Toney had the talent and toughness to have been retired by now with 30, 40 million in the bank, but his eating disorder prevented it. So much respect for him as a man though, he deserves credit for showing the bollocks to even try this MMA....

Aye, Toney had all the skills, but he just refuses to get in shape, ever. I can't remember the last time I saw him without bitch tits.
I hope he sticks with it, improves, and gets some respect back from those UFC chanting fags. Hopefully Dana gives him an easier opponent next time, but I think he will just be cut.
Imagine watching him on TUF.
I don't want to see him back in UFC, if he'd shown some ability to compete then maybe. I think he should go back to boxing, and actually try to get in shape, or just retire.
Probably KFC
I hope he retires, he's done in boxing and it's way too late for him to learn the intricacies of MMA, he made a pretty big payday so why not just retire.

I was hesitant to allow this to remain just because I didn't want anymore Toney threads posted, there are plenty of them already..just trying to be fair.
I know, that's why I added the heads up :lol1:
I don't really give a crap about the UFC, i'm just wondering what Toney will do after embarrassing himself in there :lol1:
Toney is shot as evident from the Rahman and Oquendo fights. There's no reason for him to continue boxing at all unless he's just broke.
I doubt he's broke, apparently he got $750,000 or something crazy for his MMA appearance. But, I can't understand why he's stuck around boxing for so long as it is.
He may have been chasing the K Bro's so he could retire on a payday, but this may serve him just as well. We can only hope he decide's to hang them up, it's obvious he has no future in the ring or cage.

Retirement hopefully. I could see him fighting a few more bums though.
Yeah, I would hope that he'd just retire... he's been done for years. But he seems intent on sticking around to fight a few more times, I'm wondering if he'll carry on trying to get Klitschko's in the ring.
