Saying that, I don't see how anyone can dislike Williams. He fights anyone, and it is always a great occasion.
1. Because he tried to duck this rematch with Martinez and the rematch would've never got signed if Angulo decided to man up.
2. He's an Al Haymon fighter who is paid more than his fan base warrants and has judges in his fights that already have their mind made up that he's the winner regardless of what actually goes on in the fight (see the judge who gave him that ridiculous scorecard).
3. Has been outdone in the quality of opposition dept and winning impressively dept when compared to the guy who a lot of people think beat him.
4. Has intentions of fighting smaller guys, but HBO has forced him to fight guys his own size practically.
This is why I really don't like him anymore.
Over pricing himself? I think not... Just becuz the guys trying to make some money doesn't mean he's over pricing himself. Anyone who claims he's overpriced himself is just being a pansy basically saying "I'll only fight u if I'm guarenteed to make a lot of money" as oppose to "I'll fight u to help my legacy grow". Believe me, from what I hear, he'd glady fight Mayweather or Pacquiao for a 70/30 split.
I don't see how anyone can look at what Cintron did and pin anything negative on Williams. Realistically, whether Cinturon was winning or not, he definitely didn't deserve to win pulling that punk move.
I dont dislike him i think hes great to watch,i just feel some of his fans severely overrate him and take this 'most avoided man in boxing' way too seriously
Dont bring race into this cause I'm black and I dont even like Paul Williams. I personally dont think he is garbage. He is obviously good for a reason, I just dont like his style. He should pick on division and dominate it instead of playing double dutch jump rope looking for "big" fights to jump into.
Also I dont buy the freak of nature stuff with him being able to drop that much easily. I do believe he is using banned diuretics to flip flop back n forth weight divisions. Just like how 6'1 Ali Funeka(who used diuretics) got down to lightweight. With young boxers its possible but P.will is 29 years old so he is gaining that age weight that doesnt drop well.
We all have different builds.
I'm 5'9, 195lbs.
But I'm muscular, I where a 13 size shoe and can grip a basketball.
My buddy is 6' tall, 165lbs, wheres a size 10.5 and cant grip a basketball..
Height really doesn't distinguish how big you are... just how tall you are.
Yeah good point, its true everyones body is unique.
To those saying he should rematch Cintron to get respect, he already tried and HBO didn't want to buy the fight. We're probably getting something better, Williams-Martinez II and you all still complain. It's like if Pacquiao-Margarito falls apart and Mayweather-Pacquiao happens and then people complain that Pacquiao ducked Margarito. You guys look stupid.
Perfectly worded.....
I cant believe what his natural weight is :lol1:
Im 6'1 and I think I would be dead if I walked around at less than 160 and forget about having muscles. What does he walk around at supposedly?

Staff infection means you are scared and lets also not forget this ridiculous buissnes of Williams wanting 50%.
I guess you forgot the ridiculous business of Pavlik pulling out twice because of the "staph infection". Then signing for another fight a week later. That's a duck. Plain and simple.

Yep but he fought Martinez instead of Williams.pavlik backed out twice and as soon as tall paul said to hell with it he was healthy again

And, one would counter that, that obviously would not be his NATURAL weight then.

The argument one could make though is that since Williams doesnt box if he weighed more he could have more power, but it could also effect his stamina which is a key component to his gameplan.

hm... so staph infection = scared... duly noted.
The infection mysteriously vanished the week after Williams signed to fight kermit. That was a duck plain and simple man.
He also wouldn't be at his best either.
I know you're taller than me.
Are you a better boxer if you're 30lbs heavier, or 30lbs lighter?

He would've twice, but Team Pavlik was scared remember?

But who in that division can physically hurt him? 154 and 160 is where all the physical guys are who can negate his hight and reach advantages. Even the guys he has fought above welter wernt exactly the physical powerhouses that you see all over those divisions.
Of course he's gonna be awsome at welter! who the **** can hurt him at that weight?
Now Mike Jones on the other hand!
Did you see Williams - Margarito?
Also, FYI, you don't need to be able to hurt someone to outbox the **** out of them and beat them.
AKA Welterweight Carlos Quintana.
147 he's a bit weaker,
But moving down to 147 doesnt JUST give himself advantages, I think he weakens himself as well.

How about Cab?
He's damn near 6 feet tall fighting at FW...
This guy should be fighting James Kirkland at 154lbs............................
I'm a fan of pwill, but he should've fought pavlik and gave martinez a rematch instead of begging WWs for fights that will never happen.
He would've twice, but Team Pavlik was scared remember?
If he put on weight and fought at a more natural weight he'd look moar thicker.
.
