Just watched his fight last week and I dont get him at all, he just never throws. Its like as soon as Pascal put on the slightest flurry of punches Dawson just checks out for the round.
What were they doing in training camp? Surely Pascal's movement didnt throw him off that much.
The Dawson you saw on Saturday night was the same exact one you've been seeing all along. It's just that his opponent wasn't over 40 years old and a commentator on Showtime.
Somethings gotta be done about him leaning to the left, because Pascal just ducked the other way after his flurries leaving Dawson with absolutely nothing to return fire!!
That's probably why Dawson was holding for his life in the 10th... Dawson was hurt badly many times in that fight, watch the fight again. Also, Pascal didn't put a knee down in the 11, why ? Because he was not in trouble, Pascal was winning an easy fight, if Dawson would have been able to hurt him badly in that round, Pascal would have a put a knee down, don't you think ?
I know Dawson got hurt in the 10th but Pascal still looked a little tired.
I didnt say Pascal put a knee down. And even if he didnt that doesnt mean he wasnt hurt. Why would Pascal just submit and put his knee down when he was able to move out of punches all night.
just an off night he was in a lazy mood didnt feel like punching too much
That is embarrassing for a boxer though. These guys fight twice a year three times if we are lucky. One of these nights out of the year how can he just feel lazy and not punch. He had weeks of training leading up to this fight then he is just gonna not try? I just cant accept that as an answer.
As soon as he started throwing in the 11th Pascal looked like he was about to be done.
Sure Pascal was gassed, but he was also gassed by the 8th round.
The lost art in boxing right now is finishing. There are so many fighters who smell the blood but just cruise to the decision rather then finish.

I don't really know what was wrong with Chad I think the layoff had something to do with it because it was the longest of his career but according to him he fought his fight so it is what it is
Hopefully he fights a different fight in the rematch

I hope Dawson figths better then that next time.
Its not even like Pascal blew anyone away either he just threw more and landed a couple big shots a round.
That Dawson we saw last sat, was not the Dawson I saw in the previous fights before.
Dawson needs someone like Floyd Mayweather Sr. (To come back) to train him so he can have a strict training camp, and he cannot bring his wife and kids with him to training camp...
He needs to be more serious next time and in the rematch I'm expecting Pascal to not get passed the 8th round.
Dawson just didn't seem like he wanted to fight that night. I honestly don't know what happened, but that guy has much more talent and can do 10x better than what he did last week. Honestly, when he let his hands go he can be so good, but he just don't throw. Make me think of Taylor when Steward was yelling him to fight but for a reason Taylor just didn't want to fight
That was def not the Dawson I was expecting to see. I knew Pascal was going to be a very tough fighter but I thought Dawson would decision him. I was 99% sure of it. I'm pretty sure for the rematch Chad Dawson would come in ready and I got him again to beat Pascal. Dawson is better than what we saw on the 14th.
