Everything Teddy ever did ended in failure.
He was FIRED as Cus D'Amato's assistant.
Atlas eventually ruined Moorer, remember Foreman KOed him.
Then there was a string of about 12 unfortunate boxers who made the mistake of hiring Teddy: Junior Jones, Donny Lalonde, Michael Grant, etc.
And now he's ruining Povetkin, the 2004 Olympic champion who was regarded by some a couple of years ago as potentially the next top heavyweight.
I really don't think Atlas should be given much blame for Moorer given that Moorer didn't even listen to him. At the same time, he shouldn't be given all this credit for "inspiring" Moorer to the win over Holyfield since Moorer didn't listen to him.
David Lemieux is future world champ for sure but his trainer aint better then Atlas(yet).
People forgot how good was Moorer when he was trained with Atlas.
Alot of people dont like Atlas cuz he is 99% wrong in his predictions cuz he always goes for underdog!
Moorer didn't even listen to Atlas. Atlas pleaded with Moorer, practically begged Moorer, to fight harder in the Holyfield fight. Moorer went out and slept-walked some more. Even Jim Lampley said "Moorer's going to get another scorching in the corner from Teddy Atlas after his performance in this round". Moorer didn't listen to Atlas either against Foreman and got KTFO.
Moorer fought with more passion and heart with trainers like Steward and Roach than he did with Atlas pulling his dramatic antics in the corner.
Moorer was fortunate to fight an off-form Holyfield in the first fight, whether it was a shoulder injury, heart problem, HGH-itis, weakened legs from impregnating 20 women, whatever....The Holyfield in the rematch was closer to his top form and would've beaten Moorer whether it was Roach, Atlas, Steward, or whomever training him.
Russ has trained David Lemieux, the next tyson

I like them both as trainers and Teddy has way better resume.
He trained Moorer to beat Holyfield,he trained young Tyson-

I like both guys. The reason being they both take a very proactive approach to the sport. They get into everything due to their love for it.
I will not knock either of them because this day and age, there are few who show that kind of love and are cynical at best.
I like Anber more because he is still 100% a trainer and not part time, but still finds the time to write columns and other media to promote it to whoever will listen. He seems very unbiased also when he does so.
I like Atlas because he still has a very enthusiastic love for the sport. He is cynical at times, but when he is in a good mood, talking goofy about nonsensical things, you can feel his enthusiasm. Sometimes he seems like he is about to lose it, but he is far more good than bad for the sport.
russ is very solid i go with him right now because he has a lot of fighters working with him right now , he has david who hes worked with since he was a little kid check the youtube videos but dont sleep on teddy he has povetkin
Russ Anber and it's not even close, Atlas was the man who said that David Lemieux was going to get schooled by Ayala. Maybe Ayala believed him, cause he got KO'd in the first round by Lemieux... Russ Anber said before the fight between Dawson and Pascal, that Pascal was as good or even better than Dawson and look what happened during the fight... Russ Anber > Teddy Atlas
