After Abraham, Froch's last five opponents will look like this -
Abraham
Kessler
Dirrell
Taylor
Pascal
No wonder why boxing is in the *****er when warriors like Froch get needlessly hated upon.
He might not have a lot of skill, but he makes for an exciting fight and has balls the size of bowling balls. If you don't like him I suggest you leave the thread and go watch 12 boring rounds of 'slick' boxing. Me, I would rather watch Froch walk head first into his opponents best punches, smile, and then throw some of his own.
There should be no question about Froch's list of recent opponents, IMO.
Pascal wasn't as proven at the time they fought, but it was a close, tough fight, and Pascal has proven himself to be a top fighter.
Taylor was past his best, but even so, Froch went over to the US to fight a former champion for his first title defence, and if I remember correctly, the most common criticism of British fighters around here is taking too long to go over there.
Dirrell was a bad style match up for Froch, a close fight, and one that everyone still argues about, Dirrell has proven to be a very good fighter in the Super 6 so a close fight with him shouldn't be a criticism, surely?
Kessler, another proven, top fighter, in Kesslers back yard, and another close fight. I had it to Kessler by 1 or 2 points, but I can see the argument for Froch to win.
And now he's fighting Abraham, fair enough he has to because of the Tourney, but he could have refused to take part anyway, so he (and the other members) deserve credit for that alone. Love him or hate him, Froch isn't afraid to face the best, and he does pretty well for someone who, according to most, is shite.
I use to dislike Froch because of his lack of skill. He's a likeable guy because he actually does come to fight. I think it's a 50/50 fight against AA.

he hasn't fought abraham yet.
he lost to kessler.
he got a hometown/country gift decision against dirrell.
he was way behind in the fight b4 taylor gassed but he did manage to come from behind and get the w like a champion.
pascal was a good win. i haven't watched that fight yet.
also most of the people who like slick boxing that goes 12 rounds r actual fighters themselves and appreciate the skill being displayed throughout the fight because they learn new things while watching it.
I rate Froch, I just think everyone in the supersix except Green is better. He does better head to head than Kessler will do though, since I see Direll doing a number to Kessler, and we already know what Ward did to him.
Also you guys have to stop this Oh if he was American nonsense. Look at how peole talk about Pavlik after 2008 and how Mayweather gets made fun of and called a coward after winning every fight he has been in. It's just that Froch is very limited and has lost his last fight, and recieved a gift in his second last fight in the opinion of most.
That's a point i've made with numerous folk on here. Green aside, he is the least technical fighter in the tournament. It doesn't help with the fact the man has zero defence, but he is underrated in parts of his craft. Good jab, great chin, strong mentality, great stamina.
But pointing all this out, he still takes all other elite fighters to close fights whether the majority thought he had won or lost.
Pascal - Both men were relatively green on the World stage, and this fight was the biggets outing for both fighters. Froch made Pascal fight his game, and the Canadian paid the price as he was out fought and hustled through a gutsy performance from both. One of the FOTY's. I had Froch win 8-4...but i see how others have closer scoring due to close fought rounds.
Taylor - Outboxed from early on, came on stronger mid-to-late rounds as Taylor tired, and TKO'd him. Result cannot be disputed.
Dirrell - Horrible fight to watch, Dirrell's first big stage fight...and it showed. Very negative performance from the American, but as the fight wore on, he showed little spark of what's to come from him in the future. Notably Abraham, in an impressive performance. He'd dominate Froch in a rematch. The fight was close depending how you scored it, but i gave it to Dirrell by 2 rounds.
Kessler - Very disputable result. In Sauerland-ville (Germany/Denmark etc...) Kess wins the fight. Froch would have won in UK. I personally scored it 6 rounds a piece. Close fight no matter what the results say.
With how limited he is seen, just look at how far he has gone. A win over Abraham would put him right back among the top.
Froch's next fight will be the big decider but I personally think he will beat A.A and may even stop him. Now the fight is not in Germany hopefully this body shot objection A.A has and manages to get away with will be gone.
Unfortunately for froch, Kessler came in with a great game plan and took the win, but Kessler has proven be an excellent fighter and im sure he will take care of Green.
Hopefully froch will have now learnt from this slip up and step it up.
Seeing that you don't rate Froch, Dirrell would only have Abraham and Ward. Abraham would only have a Taylor who had previously got KO'd by Froch, Dirrell, Miranda. Ward would have Dirrell, a Kessler who had nothing his way, a Green who shouldn't even be in the competition and a Miranda who had previously been KO'd by Abe.
You see, it's easy to make excuses for every fighter. I know i'd rather have Froch's resume win or lose over anybody else in the super-six at the moment.
When the competition is said and done, then yes, the likes of Ward and Dirrell would have impressive resume's as i see one of them winning it.....but every elite fighter Froch has been in the ring with has had a close fight one way or another.
I'm sure if he was from the US he'd be praised from head to toe for being a true warrior albeit limited skills.......but then again, he'd lack the balls if he was a yank.

You're never faster when you step up in weight. Especially with the muscles Pascal has put on. He may be stronger but not faster. Even so, that strength advantage would be nullified if Froch stepped up in weight to LHW.
I just don't see how beating Diacanu and Dawson, all without radically changing his boxing style, can make Pascal favourite against the guy who beat him pretty handily the first time round. It would be a closer fight but a 10-2 prediction is way off the mark. Pascal may win, but until the moment he beats Froch, I have to make Froch the favourite to win a rematch.
Not true, in fact it's a myth many amateur boxers are afraid to do to weight lifting because they think they will lose speed. For exemple : Ali only got slower because of aging not because he put more weight on his body, he was fast when he was 195 and still fast or even faster at 215. Again, watch some fights with Ali...
Seeing that he lost his last two fights, and would have lost three in a row had Taylor not been stubborn and took a knee I don't know. Evryone in the supersix has been fighting good fighters, why not give credit to Ward, Direll, and Abraham?

Ive been boxing for 30 years, i have trained with many pros... watch the fight with Dawson and right after watch the fight with Froch, Pascal is even faster and much stronger, BTW calm down son... i even said that i respected Froch in my post..

I agree and not only that, but he's better than what people give him credit for.
I keep repeating that he will beat Abraham and why he will, but they don't listen. They will later say AA was overrated or some ****.
Ward deserves credit for stepping up in opposition as well as he has, but his reluctance to fight outside of his hometown isn't a noble action.
Direll was involved in a close fight with Froch, however he ran for 12 rounds. Not moved....ran. I was there and almost fell asleep. The place got stunk out. However he handled Abraham easily and that deserves a lot of credit.
Abraham beat Taylor which was a good win, but then followed it up with his disgraceful actions in the Dirrell fight. He needs to redeem himself against Froch.
Direll ran for quite a bit, but he still dominated so many rounds. There were rounds where he wa slanding 10 to ever 1 froch landed if not more. Froch did not land more than 50 punches that whole fight, no way no how did he win.
Also I was betting on Froch, and wanted him to win. Ask Starjammer, I even gave him his points back as well as with the others I bet.
Froch will always get respect from me, he's always willing to fight the best win/lose. Froch takes high risk fights which other boxers are not willing to do today, infact these guys are far more skilled then The Cobra himself. Froch deserves props for not ducking, and he is always willing to put on a war.
I think Pascal UD's him now. Pascal has started moving in his last three fights, and I like his defense, and shot selection more than froches. The thing I dislike about froch is his telegraphed right uppercut from the other side of the ring.
If froch was a bit faster, nobody would want to fight him. He gets so strong as a fight goes on. His lack of speed is his Achilles heel. He and Abraham, who both finish strong late in a fight, is going to be very interesting.

Froch isn't a good style match up for Pascal full stop. And all this Pascal was weight drained when he fought Froch nonsense needs to stop. He wasn't weight drained or hindered. Froch was just better than him. On top of this, Pascal looks slower at LHW, and looks unnaturally big like he has put on too much mass. To be honest, I believe Froch would suit LHW better than Pascal. He has the frame for it and could easily add more mass without looking blown up. Thus I think Froch beats Pascal at whatever weight they choose to fight at. It might be a closer matchup but no way does Pascal beat Froch 10-2. That's a crazy and ignorant statement.

I think Pascal has matured as a fighter and has been steadily improving. Froch is what you get. He is in his prime and always comes to fight. I think Pascal might take a rematch as he seems to fight smarter now, but it would still be a tough competitive fight. Froch does get overlooked, just as Pascal does. That is a shame because both of them would take on anybody. It is just the way they are.

Abraham not done yet
Kessler - lost Close fight
Dirrell - only 2 non brits had him winning that fight - lost Close fight
Taylor - lost till the 12th Only two rounds behind going into the final round. Knocked him down and the KHTFO.
Pascal - well I give him that, althought there could be made some excuses No excuses Froch won the fight fair and square
His resume though is very good, he's willing to take every fight.
He just *****es around too much after a loss, which makes him unsympathetic
