I see this guy on ESPN and his insight is great, hes one of the most intelligent fighters and businessmen this sport has ever seen who knows boxing inside out.
He still has all faculties and provides great insight and predicitions when talking, he doesn't come across as a deer caught in the headlights like Lennox did sometimes and I feel with experience, he would be a great commentator someday at HBO.
I will miss the bastard when hes gone, I enjoy seeing him at weigh ins trying to get as much camera time as possible and he was the architect of the Mayweather-Mosley post fight 'almost brawl', he always speaks his mind and doesn't give a fuck.
What do you guys think? Hopkins at HBO one day?
All he does is talk about himself. Somehow he always manages to bring himself in the conversation. They could be talking about doughnuts and he'll find a way to get a story in there about the time he beat Tarver.
Hopkins and Jones Jr. alongside each other on commentary. :D
"60-40 Mayweather kicks Pacquiao's aaaazzzzzz".
"Shut'cho mouf Roy and get me some socks. Muh feets is cold".
I agree. Him or Sugar Ray Leonard would be good. I dont like Steward, Foreman was good but he said some stupid things.
You know if Mike Tyson was talking, people will tune in just to hear him speak. The guy knows his boxing and is a icon
anyone who has heard his Fight Night announcing will know he isn't all that great at covering a fight live
in guest analyst? yeah he is okay and even then he rambles a bit
Hes inexperienced at calling live fights.
I feel he could grow into it and become a top commentator.

He'd be a great HBO commentator today! He's extremely likable and does of a great job of helping fans understand his thought process regarding the sweet science. I could easily see him being the best former fighter commentator out there.
Coming from a guy with a Calzaghe avatar, whatever.
B-Hop is very well spoken I'd love to hear him on HBO!

They should have Roy Jones, Bernard Hopkins and Antonio Tarver all as commentators.
Like a Pugilist Triangle.
The commentary would be hilarious:
Roy Jones: Ohhhhh, Pacquiao knocks Margarito cleeeean out!! I told y'all, entirely toooo much speeeeeed!!
Antonio Tarver: Remember when I knocked you clean out Roy? Got any excuses... still?
Bernard Hopkins: What about when I sonned your ass for 12 rounds Antonio, tell me how my ass tastes now.
 that would be awesome
Hopkins is great to listen to:
Let's get rid of Kellerman and Merchant and keep ROy, B-Hop and Steward.

Yeah He'll be like the Charles Barkley of Boxing.:boxing:
Witty and very imposing...
They should get him together with Roy Jones JR. as boxing commentators. And pit their wit against each other.
Left to his own devices, I'd love Bernard to get on the mic and do commentary. But he's with GB, and that would probably cloud a lotta the **** he would say on HBO broadcasts. I like listening to Hopkins talk, but it would be wack to see him him towing the GBP line in every show he did, which would inevitably happen.
I've never heard Hopkins break out an..."oooooooooooooooooooh, body shot" like Roy can.
Roy is more comical than Hopkins, and has a funny ass southern accent. Both are much better than Emmanuel.
1-1 your point is moot. Jones is great, Hopkins would be great too. They both break down exactly what fighters are thinking very well, and Hopkins knows more about the thinking and technical game than Jones does if you ask me man.

I love Hopkins. He seems to speak a lot better than most infront of a camera, and is very clear, and gives great insight. His speaking abilities surpass those of Emmanual, that is for sure.
Even I that hate that prick at times I have to agree (because of the Puerto Rican flag bash). I have seen some of his interviews regarding other fights and he give a good assessment of them.
