I don't know if the 9 month layoff and the fact that he doesn't fight very often played a part, but he looked slow as s**t in there. However I think this loss was probably the best thing that's ever happened to him. I think he'll look back to it and learn from it. You can expect to see him in the ring more than once a year for sure. And one thing I know is that he will be back! Bute bounced back from what should have been a 12th round KO loss and now people (like myself) still consider him the #1 SMW after KO wins over Andrade and Miranda. But what were they saying after the first Andrade fight? "Bute is a hype job!" "Bute sucks" "Bute should get that glass checked" "Bute has the stamina of one of those half a ton kids on TV"
So yeah, we'll see him again. And hopefully he'll make the mental adjustments to be a world class boxer, because he clearly lacks them. That's what separates guys like Floyd from guys like Alexander, Dawson, etc. They have the skill, just not the correct boxer mentality. They can't make adjustments and fold when their plan doesn't work. They also don't wake up and get the killer instinct when they're behind.
dawson will be back this set back might be good for him. he might gain from it if he's a real champion.
i like dawson, just not the hype, dawson has never been an exciting fighter, so i never understood the hype, other than the fact that he is extremely talented.
he'll be back and i look forward to him fighting again, hopefully with new found vigor.
Chad was never gonna win a fight with only throwing 5-6 jabs a round. He was boring to watch and he had no attack.
When you say Chad looked slow im not surprised. His last 4 fights was againt oap's Johnson and Tarver. Its like comparing a race between a ford escort and tractor.
Im confident he will be back, hes a very talented fighter and the lay-off may have affected him, props to pascal,he brought it to his opponent and bad chad wasnt so bad anymore
he was well below the limit about a month before the fight, but i dont wanna get into that and im gettin tired of these threads, i'll let you guys get to conversing about it instead
I'm not making any excuses. He blew the fight for himself, and got what he deserved for it. I just wanted to point out that he looked much slower than usual. Pascal fought a great fight though.
