thanks, good read. im a fan of both pac and floyd and i beleive the fight will happen
The whole world is waiting....even the haters who say they are over it....
I think he is a little bigger than that but I don't think he evens cares about the "A" list. I mean him not fighting is a bigger story than the #2 biggest draw actually fighting. I think he LOVES this.
Sad but true.....and for the record...I would rather watch Pac fight Bradley/Berto/Mosley....but I will admit that I will still fork over my hard earned cash for the Margarito Execution....
B.D - hardcore fans know this... but the "casual" fans don't get it....
IMO...Floyd has reached celebrity status....but he rates only as a "C-Lister" or at the very most..."B-Lister"...but hey...still a celeb. :hail:

Ah...my bad. Regarding that part...I feel the only fighter he diddn't fight was Calzaghe....and I don't believe it was a duck....it was because nobody cared about who J.C was over here in America...and American fighters RARELY fight outside the safeguard of their own backyard....
Other than that...Roy pretty much fought whoever was available and of note in his immediate weightclasses.
This is the value of a good promoter. He makes the competition LOOK better than they truly are so twhen he name fighter gets the "w" it looks better.
WHat makes sense is to realize floyd doesn't really give a sh!t about what people say. He believes he is the commodity and everything revolves around him. Of all the crazy sh!t he's said the things that resonanted with me the most was "floyd mayweather is like the super bowl, it only comes around once a year" and his feelings about boxers after they retire.
Floyd is doing what he wants because he thinks he can get away with it at this stage of his career. He acts like movie stars do with the "any press, positive or negative, is good press" attitude toward the media. They call him scared, coward, ducker and he just ignores it and that pisses his fans off but INFURIATES the haters because he ignores them and their comments. He acts like he doesn't have to prove anything to anyone, like he is above all this.

I thought scoop was referring to RJJ's competition, Because to me RJJ fought almost everyone available in around his weight class.

That's what I get too
C'Mon Ray....I was as big a RJJ fan as anyone else (save for Reed).....and even I thought he was spot on with the Roy story....that's exactly what Roy did after his KO loss to Glen. He couldn't even put away a LHW version of Tito...

I got you Dunn....long as people read the areticle with an open mind and "get" Scoop's points....then he has Dunn (lol) his job as a journalist (1st) and a concerned fan (2nd).
My only response to you would be then...."What would make sense?"
Please none of this "If Pac would've agreed to the original terms" stuff...the whole world has moved on from that.

Read this yesterday. Scoop made some good points. He seemed real concerned that floyd's keeping quiet gives off the appearance he is scared. I just think this makes no sense. I get scoop's point but I don't agree.

Dude, if he handled this situation differently, he'd still get crucified by the media because Pacquiao is this eras hype job. It is what it is, and his situation with the media is no different than Jack Johnson being called a coward by the champ Tommy Burns and the media, whom he actually stalked but Burns refused to fight until forced. All Pacquiao needed to do was take a blood test, and every other consideration was in his favor for March, but he walked away and sued Floyd. Same ****, different era.
I would have to dis-agree....Floyd definately put himself in this media situation...pulling a "Lebron"....he should've handled it differently, could've...but diddn't. While the old adage "Actions speak louder than words" is very true....in this case...words would've definately helped out Team Mayweather. And I'm not talking about the "I just 60-days ago......." interview...because since that is what Floyd wants the public to go off of, then there is no other way to interpret that quote.
At the very least, if he would've came out with the "Uncle Roger / trial" statement...that would've been the most legit and understandable reasoning...only the Pactards would still crucify Floyd...and we all know that when it comes to common sense....Tards are right up there with Flomos.

Kind of sums up how people are starting to feel about Floyd.....

I have to say this is one of the most brilliant critical articles i have ever read about Mayweather, The writer wrote how i like my boxing journalist to write, I agree with almost everything he said apart from the RJJ part.
C'Mon Ray....I was as big a RJJ fan as anyone else (save for Reed).....and even I thought he was spot on with the Roy story....that's exactly what Roy did after his KO loss to Glen. He couldn't even put away a LHW version of Tito...
i think thats how it looks to the casual fan, and sum mayweather haters, most dont understand the business of boxing, the bob arum relationship, nobody has any info on the actual negotiations. all the public knows if the fight isn't happening blame Floyd. (Mayweather PR team or lack thereof is worst in the history of sport)
Arum's PR genuis has always determined what the public opinion of Floyd is since he left Top Rank & this is in part his fault, dude needs a better team
Aren't the "casual fans" the ones who contribute to Floyd's PPV #s? I don't consider myself a casual fan...but take into account Floyd's millions of buys....what do you think the ratio is of "casual" vs "real" fans that actually bought them?
My point being...if you are turning away your "casual" fans...and not making any new ones to replace them by your actions (or lack there of) theoretically your PPV #s would take a drastic hit yes?
Pacquiao did his 700K buys against Clottey....and I can almost guarantee that 80% of those buys were from "asian" and harcore Pacquiao fans.....give Pacquiao a fighter like Mosley, which I think he should still fight, and his buys will surpass 1 mili buys...or at the very least match Floyd/Mosley. Just my opinion though.
I have to say this is one of the most brilliant critical articles i have ever read about Mayweather, The writer wrote how i like my boxing journalist to write, I agree with almost everything he said apart from the RJJ part.
this is pretty telling
He's refusing to fight. He's refusing to make a statement (outside of his adviser/promoter Leonard Ellerbe saying that "no negotiations have ever taken place nor was there ever a deal agreed upon … to fight Manny Pacquiao on Nov. 13.") in defense of why Pacquiao is fighting Antonio Margarito instead on that date.
He's refusing to do anything more than let live the statement he made last month claiming he's "not really thinking about boxing right now. I'm just relaxing. I fought about 60 days ago, so I'm just enjoying myself, enjoying life, enjoying my family, enjoying my vacation."
How long does a vacation last when the other world-dominating-pound-for-pound title holder puts the ball in your court, throws down the gauntlet in your corner?
and some fags here are still talking about drug testing like it was important to him in the first place, haha.
As much as i like Mayweather he isnt handling the "Situation" in the right way at the moment, I really dont know whats going on behind the scene but the way he has gone on with posting of "Pictures" and his "Vacation" stories isnt making him any fans. As a fan i find it difficult to defend his recent actions and the fact that he might be fighting once a year doesnt bold well for his career.
