DO NOT...I mean seriously...DO NOT be surprised....
That if Bradley fights and beats Alexander that Mayweather - Bradley WILL happen in May 2011 instead of Mayweather-Pacquiao.
Bookmark this thread. Mark my words. It will absolutely happen.
I like both guys(Bradley&Alexander) but we must show our support for Alexander to win if this fight goes off. The fans deserve to see Pacquiao-Mayweather and if Bradley wins it will be ANOTHER year of 400 threads a day on why Pacquiao and Mayweather won't fight each other.
I'm warning you now!
I know. Absolutely ridiculous. Oh, and you forgot this part: After he beat Shane and then it went to "well he was negotiating with Matthew Hatton at some point, no?"
:lol1:
Then it went to "So what he beat Shane. I bet you Martinez can beat Floyd." Unbelievable.

But GBP themselves dismissed it. And this was while Hatton was saying he got a call from them. And Campbell was also a rumor. After people said that was in the talks, Campbell came out and said he wants to fight Mayweather and says they should give him a call. He wouldn't say that if they were already talking.
The only options confirmed (was even on BoxingScene's news) were Malignaggi and Cintron. However Floyd dismissed Malignaggi as an option, and Cintron couldn't happen because either HBO or MGM Grand (can't remember which one) refused to give Floyd the date when he didn't have a signed contract, since March 13th was 7 weeks away.
You're right and I don't even know why it matters when the only person out of the group that Mayweather truly fought was Mosley.
I know scouts at Golden Boy and I don't need to lie, Hatton WAS a serious option, but Wembley stadium was unavailable because of maintenance issues and Floyd then changed his mind about the fight. He also asked for 60% of the UK PPV but was rebuffed.

I couldn't care less, homey!!If Floyd don't wanna fight so what??If Bradley beats Alexander, which I doubt, then maybe he does deserve his shot at the Pacman, right??:boxing:
not sure what this reply has to do with anything, were talkin about if floyd (or golden boy) was in talks with hatton
The only person making that claim was Hatton. Mayweather's team said early on that Mosley was second choice after Pacquiao. So the question is who did Hatton talk to? So far I haven't heard a single name.
Then it went to he was forced to sign when Ellerbe in November said Shane was Plan B.
Then it went to ok you signed but Shane is 39 and hasnt fought in 5 years. Meanwhile ignoring that Roach admited that he didnt want Shane to fight Pacquiao because he was too good.

Anyone who thought that was going to happen was on crack.
Mayweathers on crack then. :D
We live in the real world and hear real facts, not message board rumors.
Also talks are just that, talks. Nothing was concrete, Mayweather was just exploring options.
Yeah. And then it went from Floyd is scared to death of Shane to Floyd isn't going to sign the contract to fight Shane.

The reply means not everything is what it seems. If GBP sent out feelers to a whole host of candidates it means nothing. Well, in the real world anyway. Not on NSB.
wasn't mosley scheduled to fight berto?
Yeah. And then it went from Floyd is scared to death of Shane to Floyd isn't going to sign the contract to fight Shane.
Yeah, I remember the Hatton talks. That was right around the time Floyd was scared to death of Mosley
Or around the time many people here said Mayweather was going to fight Nate Campbell. Although Campbell said that nobody from Mayweather's team contacted him.
Mosley was his only viable option, he had to fight Shane.
I would've loved to have seen the boxing worlds reaction to Matt Hatton-Mayweather though.

No he wasn't! Campbell, Hatton and all those other stupid fights were all rumors. GBP did not call Hatton. The ONLY people who were actually considered by GBP (not Floyd, but GBP) were Paulie Malignaggi and Kermit Cintron. I'm guessing Floyd wasn't interested in Malignaggi so they turned to Cintron, but then HBO refused to give them the March 13th date because they didn't have a deal yet and March 13th was only 6 or 7 weeks away. That's when they turned to the Mosley-Berto winner for a May date, and Berto happened to pull out.
If you look at all of Floyd's opposition, they may not have all been the best fighters, but they all had one thing in common. They were either world champions or hype jobs!
Mosley: World champion, top WW
Marquez: p4p #2, Pacquiao's rival
Hatton: Very hyped, solid JWW
De La Hoya: Biggest name in boxing, top JMW, key to superstardom
Baldomir: The Ring WW champ
Judah: Former Ring WW champ, blew it against Baldomir, also had a huge Hip Hop fanbase
Mitchell: Former top JWW, Tszyu's rival

Floyd was seriously thinking of fighting Matt Hatton before the Shane fight, so don't be surprised if you see a fight like that materialize.
Hatton has some moderate fan backing in the UK off his brothers name.
Bradley has no fans apart from on message boards.

He will have fans if he fights the weekend before the Superbowl and KO's or beats Alexander badly.
