he fights in that little 2000 seat venue while other boxers in the 140 pound division have very big followings alexander just had 9,000 in the lou, amir khan sells big in england, judah still has a big fanbase shown by his last fight in newark, and even victor ortiz had like almost 8,000 fans when he fought maidana so why hasnt bradley been able to bulid a fanbase even in his hometown??
Guys that knock their opponents out get more attention. Despite all of Bradley's accomplishments at 140, people were high on Alexander because of the Urango knockout. Knockouts have that kind of affect. Bradley's last knockout was in 2007.
He only gets 2000 people in his hometown, so he won't be bringing big fights home. He doesn't really have the trash talking personality. I guess these are the things that make him relatively unknown.
One reason and one reason only and that is he doesnt have punching power. If he had 22 or 23 KO's right now he would be a lot more popular. He has a good personality, he likes to mix it up, he has shown great heart, not sure how he ever got up from that Holt knockdown but he lacks that one thing that is so crucial in boxing and that is crowd pleasing knockout power.
Same reason doubles hitters are not as popular as home run hitters or why shooters arent as popular as dunkers or possession WR's arent as popular as speed WR.
Personality? My snails have more personality then that guy, he makes paul Williams look like Ricardo Mayorga personality wise.

I also think he ain't that good.
140 is a very overrated and overrated division, they have 2 US and a brit star.
That's how boxing works as well.
That's because you're dumb as dirt. And I guess you've never heard of Ortiz and Maidana.
yeah and the guy who said bradley has no special talent is full of crap just watch the peterson fight and youll see how much talent bradley really has
He has talent but not "special" at anything he does. Very well rounded but that makes for a boring fighter. Not trying to diss the guy, just telling the truth.
No personality, not a big puncher, good speed but not that fast and not that slick either. He isn't really an action fighter either and well he doesn't really do anything exceptionally well hes just well rounded.
He's Paul Williams light!
LOL,I hear that man, good post!! :fing02:

i am a fan of both alexander and bradley but im a boxing fan first and alexander was about as lucky as lucky gets saturday kotelnik should have knocked him out!
LOL,I hear that man, good post!! :fing02:
If you can watch this and say he has no special talent, please lay off the bottle/piff:
Sure he's not the biggest puncher in the world, but he's got amazing reflexes and when he's boxing he's pretty hard to hit. He's also quick, throws good counter punches isn't scared to throw combinations against any fighter. And while he doesn't knock fighters out, he shakes them up and drops them a lot. He had Witter, Peterson, Campbell and Abregu wobbling all over the ring. And he attracts to both boxing and brawling fans (in his prospect days they called him "The Blaxican" lol.
He isn't as big of a draw as Khan and Alexander because of his promoter, and also the fact that they're from areas where boxing is bigger. Heck, Cory Spinks was probably a bigger draw than Floyd Mayweather at one point in their careers. And I'm sure Ricky Hatton was too. If he beats them then I guarantee he'll blow up. But since when are all big draws skilled? There are plenty of bums in boxing with big followings.
Damnit I almost forgot just how ****ing well rounded Tim Bradley is. He is so damn well rounded, can fight on the inside, box, counterpunch, move forward and pressure. He will do WHATEVER works and WHATEVER is takes to win. He has that "it" factor, that "I won't lose even if I'm knocked down 100 times" mindset.
Oh, I got the impression you might have been an Alexander fan...lol, my bad. I like Khan's skills too but his attitude sucks. I used to be all about Khan but as of late, he thinks he is larger than life.

Floyd after he beat Corrales was ducked by pretty much everyone from 130-135. Why? He was too high a risk NOT ENOUGH MONEY. He was P4P number 2 but was only doing 350k buys until he fought DLH. Manny was doing 300k on a consistent basis sometimes less until he fought DLH. Bradley just needs to fight Floyd when he's about 37 and he will be known world wide.
nah i like bradley and would favor him over everyone at 140 except khan i think thats a 50/50 fight

Upset about how bad Alexander looked on Sat night? Bradley maxed out that arena as small as it may have been with his fans. There wasn't one Abregu fan in the house. HBO is building up Khan and Alexander because they want to make bank off of them. Bradley was on Showtime early on in his career, he had to make it the hard way, Ortiz.......Hispanic = big following already and HBO pumped him up as a star from the gitgo. Khan had a big following in England but had to fight Paulie in NYC just so the fight would sell, he is not a draw here in the states, but HBO is trying to pump him up as a star too.
HBO keeps throwing in Mayweather comments while talking about Alexander to subconsciously instill the idea that Alexander is the next Mayweather....pumping him up as a star. HBO is paying out a bunch of money to create that star image, that goes a long way in gaining fans...that's why he was never going to lose to Kotelnik, no matter what happened in the ring. Even if Kotelnik had dropped Devon, he would have stil lost, a clear KO was needed for Kotelnik to have any chance and even then there would be massive controversy involved.

people say aint nothing special about bradley???lol...the man has pretty good defense and is a good counter puncher
LOL, I know funny stuff. No talent yet he keeps winning all of his fights by shutting the opponents down completely nearly every rd. Dude is humble and gives respect and doesn't have a smack talking trainer to stir stuff up for him like Alexander does.
Selling fights is about drama and controversy...stuff I don't really like personally but that is what sells. It's like songs on the radio, most of them suck like crazy but when the radio station only lets you hear those certain songs like 10 times a day, you start to believe how great the songs are. When HBO shows a boxer and repeatedly talks about how this kid is the next P4P king, people watching start to believe it- it's like "Hey these guys know what they are talking about, they are the experts, so this guy is really good"
People don't really think about it in terms of this guy is an investment for HBO and the commentators are the salesmen giving you the sales pitch.
I don't think he will be a superstar. you have to have a great personality or be an extreme crowd pleaser to do so.
Agreed. He doesnt have the total package.
Who heard of Bradley before he beat Witter? That's what I thought...
He just has to keep winning, his time will come, Floyd and Manny weren't always big until they won their way there.
