It used to be good, but it's gone downhill in recent years.
The writers such as Eric Raskin, Ivan Goldman and Bill Dettloff are so unfairly negative and prejudiced against white/European boxers such as the Klitschkos that I stopped buying it.
They've had David Haye on the cover and an article hyping him as the next great heavyweight, but will never put Wladimir, Vitali, Adamek or Bute there.
They actually rated the Klitschkos as #47 and #48 p4p in 2009.
The Ring needs to replace some of those shitty writers like the Euro-haters Eric Raskin and Bill Dettloff.
Didn't they have Wlad on the cover couple of months ago? "Champ lookin' for a challenge", or some such? I've bought 3 out of the last 5 I think. 2 were Pac covers one Wlad, none of which are GBP unless I'm mistaken...just sayin'...
i used to buy it in the early/mid 2000s but i never see it around anymore. the last time i saw one was new orleans in 2008. i grabbed it before getting on my flight at an airport newstand. i think pavlik was on the cover.
I bought or subscribed to it for years. Quit about 5 years ago. Back in the day it was full of results and details of bouts around the world. It changed and became mainly stories like ko magazine and world boxing magazine. International Boxing Digest is much like the old Ring used to be.
I still have all my old Ring magazines to this day.

Its cuz they suck and are boring. Get it through your fukking head.
I used to subscribe but they botched sending me 2 issues and I'd constently get issues weeks after newsstands. I say for $50/yr it wasn't worth it. I've reconsidered doing it again but I just can't do it with their horrible service.
I love the magazine though.
I used to have the same problem but i wrote them an email about it and it got fixed. i usually get it a few days before the stands now.
Honestly, nowadays I just buy for the artwork. The covers are just classic and have real style. I particularly like the recent Howard Schatz spreads so I'll occassionally pick up an issue just to have some eye candy on coffee table.
I haven't bought newspapers or any other magazines in years, because I can read for free online.
Having said that, I rarely read Ring online. It's pretty obvious they shill for Goldenboy even though they deny it. I go blogging more than anything else for my news and updates.
