Get a grip, Kotelnik was in all the rounds, but was gettign edged in a lot of them. He landed cleaner, especially with his jab, which landed almost at will, but he kept losing the close rounds. Throwing one punch at a time, and simply got outworked.n I was very fair with my judgeing and personally had it 116-122 or 8-4. The rounds were close bbut Alexander was winning them.
Also I must say I was a bit disappointed that Alexander elected to trade flurries rather than sit down on his punches as we saw in the past. I told you guys that Kotelniks style would give Devon problems, since he elects to stay in the pocket at times when his inside game is still under development. When he was on the outside he did some excellent work, but I was also bothered by how he backed up a little too much in this fight and chose to look cute, whn he would stand his ground with guys just as strong as Kotelnik, like Urango. Styles make fight guys.
That said Alexander won the fight clearly going by round by round, he took almost all of the early rounds and split the mid to late rounds. Kotelnik is no joke either he is the guy who outboxed maidana a while back. I also must remind you guys Kotelnik vs Khan was also 8-4.
I like Devon he is one of my favorites but Im going to be honest I had a flash back of Pacquiao vs Marquez II except Devon did not get a knock down Devon been outboxed almost the whole fight
no way he won tonight
You calim Hopkins won due to clean effective punching....even though he still got outlanded almost 2-1
Kotelnik outlands Devon and you give no credit to him for owning Devon in effective punching.
Also the way you supposedly love defense yet give no credit to Kotelnik who has a tremendous defense.
You're insanely bias.
Um I said Kotelnik damn near landed at will when he threw. I score based on rounds not who looks better throughout the fight. If I thought Alexander lost I would be the first to say it.
Once again bringing up Hopkins Calzaghe is irrelevant those fight looked nothing alike. The only comparison was one busier guy and once more accurate guy.
One thing I will give you is that if Kotelnik had power he would have KOed Alexander.
I thought Kotelnik won the fight quite handily
He connected more accurately
Great ring generalship (cutting off the ring effectively and positioning Alexander where he can land his straight right
Connected crispier shots
Superb defense
This is pro boxing not the amateurs that by throwing more you win a fight. I just don't see how Alexander should win by activity? how? This is not Pac-Clottey where Clottey didn't make an effort to even pressure Pacquiao. Kotelnik did pressure Alexander and took the fight to him. Boxing is about hitting and not getting hit. Kotelnik did that.
I have it the other way around. I had it 8-4 to Kotelnik. He landed the best punches AND more punches. I can see the argument of winning on activity. But what kind of activity? Throwing punches on gloves all night doesn't win rounds for me. Kotelnik threw less and landed more.
Totally different looking fights that have nothing to do with one another. Those two fights are not even comparable, what are you getting at, just go ahead and say it.

Wow....thats actually shameful and embarrassing
disgraceful bully......no one can take your calzaghe hate serious anymore
When did I ever hate on Calzaghe? The only time I ever rooted against him was when he fought Hopkins.

I base my judging on clean effective punching, Activity with ineffective punching does not win fight in my view. But then again Its my honest opinion, and Alexander only landed glancing blows, got beat to the punch in every exchange, If you saw any "clear effective punching" on part of Alexander, plz show us evidence and make a video pointing out the thigs said above, That said, I respect your opinion.
Kotelnik won, and it wasn't close. Alexander's only 23, so he may improve. However, pretending that Devon won when he clearly lost, like Stones is doing, only comes off as sad and kind of pathetic.
Calzaghe lands almost twice as many punches Hopkins yet you think Hopkins won.
Kotelnik outlands Alexander and you think Devon won.
you're a joke

I don't get it. Please explain people defending the "workrate" of Alexander:
How is throwing 1000 punches and landing 100 better than throwing 500 punches and landing 120?
^^^Explain people.
It's clear even to the Alexander defenders that Kotelnik landed the cleaner more effective punches. It's also clear Kotelnik landed more of them.
Getting outworked would be if Kotelnik had landed cleaner punches, but Alexander landed more.
Kotelnik landed more punches, landed harder punches, was much more accurate, and had Devon clueless from round 4 on.
You don't win fights hitting air and gloves. Unless you think Froch beat Dirrell, too.
I had it a bit closer. 115-113 Alexander. Slap boxing can only take you so far when you're opponent's connecting the way Kotelnik was. And I had Khan-Kotelnik a little further than that. There were some close rounds, but I certainly didn't have it 116-112.
I understand that he was inside for longer than Khan, but he still shouldn't have gotten caught on the chin as many times as he did. It says a lot about his movement. Guys like Khan and Bradley have the footspeed to throw combinations and then move out before their opponent can even throw a punch half way.
You're a delusional fool
Alexander was hitting gloves and air all night
Kotelnik beat the shit out of him and clearly won the fight.
Eastrern European fighters are superior. These American hypejobs are ALWAYS getting owned by Eastern Europeans.
Eastern Europeans are taking over boxing. You xenophobic Americans and racists out there better get used to it.
Omg. Yo just for ONCE man please leave race and Nationality out of your posts. I don't care if a boxer is from Afghanistan and has blue skin. None of that means anything to me.
I agree 100% with your post.
Alexander won clearly.
Khan ducks punchers and is a joke.
Bradley and Alexander are the best at 140.
Another Euro fighter bites the dust.
Get real...Cause Harold said so? Or the judges? Devon did not win that fight.

It's like Calzaghe-Hopkins, just more entertaining you know..
