sure, I know, p4p lists are just unsubstantial popularity lists. but lets face it, Wladimir has got to be one of the most dominant fighters in the sport.
Trust me, Im with everyone when they say that the HW division is weak. honestly, its sad. But heres a wakeup call: The man has been dominating the best in the division for coming on 6 or 7 years.
despite the fact that the division is shallow and that he wont fight his brother, his level of domination is pretty much unmatched. I dont think you can deny it: the guy has almost flawlessly consistantly taken out more top 10 guys in the last 6 years than any other fighter.
Im not saying that he should be rated best in the world or even in the top 5. but to not consider him at least the 10th best fighter in the sport is a joke.
And dont give me that tired 'heavyweights shouldnt be in p4p lists'. p4p lists are not about moving up in weight(although size can be a factor in giving a fighter credit), it's about a fighter's proficiency and success in the sport at the given time.
oh, side note: Tomaz Adamek should be top 10 too. I actualyl dont think much of him, but hes gone from light HW titlest to #1 at Cruiserweight to a mid ranker at HW. thats a lot more accomplished than a lot of other top fighters.
Wlad aint top 10 because there are too many great fighters in the lower weight classes. Wlad is dominating a weak ass era of Heavyweight with hasbeens like Hasim Rahman fat asses like Arreola. Wlad not even top 20 in my eyes. Maybe top 30 (lower part of 20's)
You need to get your eyes checked out if you don't have Wlad top 5, first off he didn't fight Arreola, Vitali did, everybod's talking about the heavyweight is bad, the light heavyweight is 10x worse.
I bet you have Chad Dawson ranked in the top 5, yet his division is horrible, the #1 P4P guy in the world has been handpicking fights for the past 4-5 years, yet when Wlad fights, he faces the #1 contender. He's domininating grown men, the type of guys people cross the street to avoid.
How can you not have him top 5, you have to be completely blind not to notice the domination he's been putting on the heavyweight division.
People make it out as a sucky division only cause it's 2 guys who happen to be brothers dominating it.
The division sucks because a former Lightheavyweight can move up to it and beat a guy who was ranked in or at least close to the top five. And people say the Heavyweight division is good? I don't see it. Look at what James Toney who is a fat undersized piece of lard was able to accomplish. Not that he did anything overly spectacular. But he was ranked in the top five after he beat Ruiz. That shows a lack of talent and depth to the Heavyweights. Anybody who thinks the division isn't bad needs to get Klitchko's dick outta their ass.

I agree with the TS, Wlad definitely deserves to be in the top 10. Yh the division isn't the best but you can only beat the people that are put in front of you and he's been doing that.
Like Tim Bradley??
Since when Kendall Holt is a tougher fight than Rahman?
Cherry a tougher fight than Chambers?
If a guy like Williams who takes punishment by smaller fighters in his fights can be part of the top 10.
Why a real dominater who can use his height well(unlike Fraudisher) can't smell it???
Overrated US fighters ranked US medias!!That's it.
Who said Bradley was a Top 10 P4P fighter?
Adamek and Haye are much more skilled than Wlad P4P,Klitschko is dominating because of his size, Klitschko fans will argue that many fighters weighed the same/more than Wlad but how many of them weren't overweight?
OK, well I dislike this comment as well. Louis fought a few bums, and so did Tyson, but they both beat a ton of top ten fighters, and a lot of them werent even close to bums.
I consider Tyson's era to not be the best ever, but better than today's division. the defining characteristic of his era was that there actually was a lot of talent, but the guys were undertrained or unfocused: in other words, they never fulfilled their potential.
It's the same in this era.
Tony Thompson
Peter
Chambers
Williamson
Ibragimow
To name few.
Those guys are called bums because they get beat by Wlad.
They forgot a guy like Peter outboxed (not outsized) James Tonney, he can box and punch.
But Vitali is a giant with arm longer than your legs, and the guy has skills,he outclassed Lewis altough he get TKOED,Peter had more than he can chew.
I truly believe those guys are blessed with something (raw power or talent or speed).
They just don't have the X factor.
Chambers is a really good fighter, but the guy was really outsized and outclassed by Wlad.
Thomson is a good heavyweight, could have done his job in any era.
Those guys aren't worst fighter than Pinklon Thomas,Berbick or midget ass Spinks...
He makes my Top 20 P4P List. Hes not a bum dont get me wrong. Its just that with the level of competition in heavyweight its not fair to rank him over fighters who are fighting tougher fights.

Whats his best win? Recently.
Having any fighter from the Heavyweight division is a joke. The division is the worst in boxing.
Because all the americans in the division are getting beat and there is no more Ali...so the division sucks....
But fact is a fighter like Eddie Chambers has way more speed and skills than many old schoold overrated ATG.
Then why are Louis and Tyson considered some of the best ever.? Louis was knocking out bums every month along with Tyson.

His last two:
Ruslan Chagaev, who had never lost or even been knocked down. Wlad won every minute of every round.
Eddie Chambers who had never been knocked down before, and had only one decision loss. Wlad completely dominated and knocked him out cold with 15 seconds left.
These are very good fighters. Give Wlad credit.

Damn boy would you stick to the subject we are talking about Wlad in 2010.
I've been saying this for some time. Even taking into account the relative weakness of the division and Wlad's sometimes sizable weight advantages over his opponents, he still dominates them all whilst taking minimal damage in return. Certainly, if someone like Paul Williams can be in the top ten (a man who doesn't seem to know how to use his height advantage properly and often takes tremendous punishment in his fights) then Wlad has a good shout.
Nope. Has a 30 lb size advantage over every opponent he fights and the division sucks.its the HW division. anything over 200lbs is not really an advantage at all.
the division does suck, but his consistant domination of the best of it has a lot more merit than someone like Kelly Pavlik, who jumped to like #5 for simply beating Jermain Taylor.
