I've been watching Tim since his amatuer days and remember when he even defeated UK's Darren Barker.
I've seen virtually all of Bradley's fights, and I just don't see what the hype is about at all.
-He was nearly knocked out cold by medicore/very average Kendall Holt.
-Was dropped by sub par/extremley medicore Edner Cherry, who can't really even punch. Paulie Mallinaggi done a much better job on Cherry.
-Went to a life and death struggle with a 35 year old Junior Witter.
Overall Bradley just hasn't got the X-Factor about him. Plain and simple.
He just isnt a special fighter/talent.
He is just a good solid/good pro.
I feel Devon Alexander is the much better/more special fighter and would beat Bradley. Deep down I feel Tim knows this, and I feel he's ducking Devon.
Even in his last outing, he wasn't really that impressive. He just always for the most part seems to put in decent/average perfromances in, nothing more, nothing less.
Am just sick of seein Tim gets all this hype and praise, dude's seriouly overrated.
So he didn't look perfect at welterweight against an undefeated welterweight puncher and he still virtually shut him out. I don't see how he's overrated. I think he's rated where he's supposed to be rated. It's not like you can go outside and talk to a random person about Timothy Bradley either so he's not known like that. Only hardcore boxing fans know him and rate him.

I agree with this somewhat. He lacks power and i hate his overhead right, makes him look like he's looking for a lucky punch and it's rarely effective, if at all. On top of that he isn't very creative relying too much on that overhead right hand to get in a lucky shot so he can combo his opponent out. Devon on the other hand is a much better boxer and looks more physically fit to be a great champion to me (body type).
Bradley may not be the most athletically gifted fighter, but he does everything well. He can box, he can brawl, he can rip you to the body, counterpunch, he can take a punch, and he has had his opponents in trouble in his last three or four fights.
The only serious drawback to Bradley is he doesn't finish opponents, but he is good at everything else. No matter how you fight him, he has a stylistic counter to it. He would beat Alexander because of that advantage.
I completely agree about his lack of finishing opponents. He should have stopped Peterson and Abregu. The only guy I feel he could have finished is Nate Campbell because he was hitting him pretty hard until the heatbutt.

1. lol at "nearly knocked out cold". he was nearly knocked out maybe, but even so he got up. holt is one hell of a puncher, getting up from that first left hook shows a great chin and great heart.
2. holt is far from mediocre/very average. he was a great talent who just took too much punishment over the course of his career which has been showing as of late.
3. he wasnt dropped by cherry, i guess u havent seen all his fights after all.
4. he didnt have a life and death fight with witter, he won big. its just because he fought in england that the cards were close, again i guess u missed that fight. boxrec let u down.
bradley isnt great in any one area, but hes solid in all areas and adapts well. he does have a good resume and great ability. i could agree to disagree if u werent so badly biased, "nearly knocked out cold" this and "life and death struggle" that just proves u cant be taken seriously though.
Maybe what I'm trying to get at was clearly poorly worded. He doesn't have a bad chin because he would have been KO'd, but I could see him getting KO'd by someone with the pop of Holt who is a better fighter. I could be wrong...
He was knocked down by Holt because Holt called him a b**ch before the round started, and he let his emotions get the best of him by rushing in. I believe he ran into a right hand, which was followed up by the uppercut. But Diaz scolded him for that and it never happened again.
He lacks chin now?
The hook Holt dropped him with would have been the beginning of the end for most guys.

LOL how can you say these two things in the same post? What did you do, go on boxrec and hope nobody saw the fights? Bradley was not dropped by Cherry. In fact, he dropped Cherry with his signature counter right hand.

Ducking Devon? He called him out two days after the Urango fight, yet nobody brings this up...In fact right now he's waiting for Devon to beat Kotelnik so they can finalize the contract with HBO for the January date or fight Amir Khan if he comes forward.
Am just sick of seein Tim gets all this hype and praise, dude's seriouly overrated.
And saying Devon would beat Aaron Pryor or Khan would beat Floyd isn't overhyping? Every fighter gets ridiculous hype at some point. It's natural. But at the end of the day we'll know whose better when they meet in January.
Bradley just doesn't have the pop or chin. He has the speed and form and the desire. But the pop and chin is something you are born with, and I don't think he has it. I love watching him fight and I think he's a great guy, but I don't think he will ever be elite. Good to great? Yup, but not the best...
