Which fighters of today would you say resemble a prime Mike Tyson? Not necessarily the peek-a-boo style specifically, but the style of coming forward with aggression while maintaining A+ defense, top notch head movement, and an unmatched ability to slip and weave punches, while returning some back.
Other great attributes would be good counter-punching, good speed, and good combinations, but all of these together make for a short nominee list.
Basically, who all of currently active fighters would you put on the list that reminds you of a 1988 Mike Tyson in one way or another?
LOL, thanks for all the names guys. I'll look up every single one of them later tonight. Any more? Skills' post half-late post about David Lemieux makes me think the list could be forgetting some.
2 ****ing pages and noone said David Lemeiux? WTH has anyone seen him fight?
You have got to be kidding me.
I can't wait for Omar Henry to rip his head off inside of one round.
James Kirkland would be the closest IMO. He doesn't have the chin or hand movement but he does have that aggressive killer/killer instinct that Tyson had along with a lot of power as well.
Well Omar Henry @ the start of his career looked like a Miguel Cotto now he is like a Mike Tyson. But lets hope he gets his own look with a mix between Cotto and Tyson
Just looked up a few of his matches. Now that's what I'm talking about. This guy could go places, just needs some work on his defense and head movement. Excellent prospect from the looks of it. A great example.

I don't want to ruin your thread. As you said you werent looking for the perfect clone I'm okay with it.
But Mike is 1 in 7 billions. A freak of nature.
Very true, and acknowledged by me. That's why I said "but all of these together make for a short nominee list". :D I guess what I'm looking for are fighters of today I can take interest in watching who are aggressive "come forward" fighters who also have and maintain excellent defense while doing it. So far the only one I've taken a heavy interest to is David Tua starting some years ago.
