IMO David Lemieux is the most powerful MM prospect, Jacobs just got KO'd by another prospect. Lemieux is now ranked #5 and #6 after he destroyed Ayala in the first round, the same Ayala who was able to stay on his feet for more than 11 rounds with one of the most powerful man P4P in boxing, Arthur Abraham.
Why is it a crime to believe that David Lemieux would be able to KO Jacobs ?
I want your opinion and if you don't know who is David Lemieux, please do some research first, you'll have fun doing it cause he's 23-0 with 22 ko's...
jacobs belongs at 154. he's already been fighting 154 pounders his entire career anyway(cept pirog) he was on the jermain taylor career plan but ran into a pavlik type opponent before he got the chance to rob the long reigning champ.
Ive seen Lemieux before and hes actually not too bad, hes a powerful puncher. but he is pretty raw, a little bit plodding and his head movement and defense is a little weak. good prospect though, and I can see growth in him.
lets not go overboard on the dislike for Jacobs though. I noticed his weaknesses even before the Pirog fight, but lets not act like hes garbage all of a sudden. With a little tweaking he could probably be quite similiar to Dirrell.
I agree, Pirog probably fought is best fight ever and Jacobs is worse... I hope Jacobs will get back on his feet, it would be great to have all those prospects fighting each other for a title. Lemieux was suppose to fight in August, will see...

golovkin hits harder than lemieux. and no its not crazy to think that he'd KO jacobs.
jacobs isnt that nice and falls to a lot of the mw contenders and prospects.
lol no need for me to answer, this is exactly what i was going to write.
Its not a crime, but its pretty baseless to think Lemieux could ko Jacobs.
He has a soft record and though heavy handed doesn't seem to have much else thus far from what I have noticed.
I'v only watch maybe 5 of his (short) fights so far but his fundementals have struck me as solid and he's quite good at finding and creating openings to unleash those combo's. He doesn't seem to have any glaring weaknesses aside from his 5"10 height, short arms, and untested/unproven chin, stamina, heart. So long as he has the last 3 i can see him being in the mix for sure.
who told you it is a crime, you are just giving your opinion and there is no crime in that, but i have seen this lemieux kid and he can hit,but he fought a lot of nobodies, stiffs as we may say in the boxing circles, sure he has a chance at a win,but if i were his camp i would have a sit down with the team and see if we can maybe go the route of facing a coulple of legitimate contenders before lacing the gloves up and testing uncharted waters against a foe like jacobs,:boxing::arabia:
Cause the thread i made after Jacobs lost was saying the same thing and it got deleted... so i wanted to know if you would find it an ok thread, so far i like what i see... i started boxing 30 years ago and i think i know more than enough on boxing to give my opinion on this site without being deleted... I also like to see someone who have a different opinion than mine.
Lemieux should face better opponents starting from his next fight, that's what i heard here in Montreal... let's see if he can still bring that power to next level, IMO he will
i think lemieux has the power to stop jacobs or anyone he fights for that matter, he does need to step up the competition though, but i think he has the pop to stop anyone he fights, it's just a matter of if he can create the opening and take it, which he is capable, at least with who he has fought as of yet.
I agree with that, i think he's ready for some bigger fights now but because he's only 21, i understand why they must be careful with who he should fight next...
It is not a crime to think it. It is also not a crime to think Jacobs could do that to him.
Jacobs did look terrible Saturday but it could have been doe to the style he was up against. It could also have been just him not being focused with his head more focused on personal issues etc. Maybe a combination of both.
We will not really know where Jacobs stands until we get to see him again. He looked shaky from the opening bell Saturday and gave pure signs of not being ready for the big jump.
For lemieux he is still in the proving grounds. We will need another fight or 2 against quality opposition to be able to better gauge how good he is. He has looked great so far, but so did Jacobs until Saturday.

i only saw lemieux once against ayala and the kid obviously has got some pop in his punches. he also got good handspeed for a middleweight. i thought ayala underestimated him by going toe to toe and he paid the price for it. lemieux has got the potential, it's about time his handlers let him fight outside of Canada.
People all of a sudden are jumping down jacobs throat.
Right now Lemieux needs to prove himself against a better opponent, until then I reserve the right to not answer this question.
no. power is a big equalizer when one fighter may have a bit more boxing ability. lemieux likes to get them out of there so i expect, when he turns the pressure on, for jacobs to feel extremely uncomfortable and become a bit like the sloppy fighter we saw saturday.
though i would also say that every fight is its own circumstance. getting a guy out of there faster doesn't always have to do with power.
