i would say hell no! of course pac, and the klitschkos are exceptions. i know these 3 train a helluva lot. the brothers train in between fights. pac looks like he does something to stay so sharp.
martial artists, and chinese opera peeps are among my most dedicated list. if u dont know, nothing i care to say to convince ya.
olympic swimmers and track and field guys are probably the highest conditioned of all athletes.
PLEASE find someone in better shape than Usain Bolt. Dude ran a 9.58 100-meters for f*ck's sake (looking sideways to the clock!!!). That sh*t is mind-blowing to me.
And Phelps destroying other world class olympians. Crazy.
Nah. They get time off in between fights. Most elites fights between 1-3 fights a year. And most of them balloon up in between them. IMO, an elite basketball player who spends time working out in the summer is more dedicated.
And there was the US transplant from Australia whose passion for the sport was equalled only by his love for booze. His name escapes me at the moment but I remember reading a report that during a fight, he got knocked down, found a bottle of whisky on the apron and gulped down a few before resuming the fight. He reportedly won.
It was also said that he was thrown out of some fights for climbing the ring drunk.
He too is a Hall of Famer. :)
That would be Young Griffo!, great boxer and impressive record, if he wasn't an alcoholic he may of won his fights against Gans and other big names.
Lol was going to bring them 2 up, they was the first that came to mind, Locche smoked 60 or so a day and cut down to 20 when training though apparently which is somewhat of an effort I suppose.
Monzon did whatever he pleased and stayed in fantastic shape, a physical freak.LOL!!! Sorry, pal. LOL!!!
And, I just recalled that while Filipino Hall of Famer Flash Elorde was a teetotaler during his active phase, his compatriot, Pancho Villa, was anything but.

Hall of Famer Nicolino Locche not only smoked in training, he sometimes took deep drags on cigarettes between rounds. And there was Carlos Monson and his storied regular rounds of night spots.

Plus Arreola.....but boxing is the type of sport that athletism can push you real far like RJJ and Toney
Exactly.
If you were born being super athletic (like RJJ) you can get pretty far without 110% dedication.
And I think Toney was super knowledgeable about the sport of boxing.
If you want a serious thread put it in the Nutrition and training forum otherwise u get kids posting all sorts of silly comments.
Because there are TONS of people over there and getting 1 comment a day is so exciting
Do you think elite boxers are the most dedicated athletes in the world?
How can you define dedication? All the top athletes in the world are as dedicated as can be. Imagine cyclist and other athletes.
I would say they are as dedicated as any other athlete
