Asked for his thoughts on the pending future of Mayweather, Lederman revealed that he only knows as much as he reads in the papers and that perhaps Floyd’s accountant told him it would be a better financial move to fight in 2011. Asked if he feels that Mayweather still wants a fight with Pacquiao, Lederman is beyond adamant.
“Floyd is too good,” Lederman claimed. “He will never turn his back on a fight like that. If you go back in history do you remember when he fought ‘Chicanito’ Hernandez? We all said that he wasn’t ready and that Hernandez was going to kill him. Chicanito was a great champion and Floyd Mayweather wiped the floor with him. He fought so many guys that people thought he wasn’t ready to fight and he just did great. But Floyd is a great fighter, he really is. He’s a terrific talent.”
Lederman went on to note that many of Mayweather’s struggles in the past have been due to his hands being damaged but that it simply doesn’t seem to be a problem anymore. Before disappearing between the halls of the Mandalay Bay Lederman emphatically stated that there is too much at stake for Floyd to just turn away.
“He’s not going to walk away from Manny Pacquiao. He has too much pride. If you paid him twenty dollars he would take the fight. The reason being it is a guy who everybody thinks can beat him up. Floyd is a great champion, great person, and I know very well he is going to do well in the Pacquiao fight.”

I have trouble getting Lederman's point. If Jim thinks that Mayweather doesn't care about money to the point where he'll fight Pacquiao for 20 bucks, how could Jim advance the justification that "financial matters" such as taxes have gotten in the way of the fight being made?
To put it succinctly, if money does not matter, how can money matters matter?
Too bad, he didn't show his pride when Cotto was on his ass and a lot of people thought he would beat him. After he knocked out Judah in a sold out MSG or after he decisioned Mosley at a sold out MSG.
Instead of fighting an overrated Hatton (he was pretty high up on P4P lists) and selling 900K, they would have hit 1.5.
Nobody doubts Mayweather's skills, to put it how I feel about him is difficult.
Its like cooking a great steak on the grill , the best of the best, you can't wait til you eat it with all the trimmings, got it on yer plate and a mangy dog comes up and bites it ! WHO WANTS IT THEN ?????????
He leaves a bad taste in yer mouth.
The best thing that could happen to him is get Knocked OUT !!!!! Learn some humility.
He would be a better fighter and a better person.
I agree floyd will eventually fight pac. I'm sure when they fight I will bet heavy on floyd mayweather jr. to win. If, as emmanuel stewart said, ricky hatton brough out the best in floyd, I'm sure manny will bring out the bestest.
Don't count on that. The best Floyd you will ever see are the one's in Corrales, Gatti, Hernandez, Castillo II, Judah, Mosley. I see Mayweather-Pacquiao like Mayweather-Marquez. Mayweather will be too physically big, too fast for his size, too accurate. And it will just be a matter of Floyd wanting to go for it(the KO) or not. As was the case for Marquez where he just wanted to get some rounds in to shake off the ring rust.
Hatton didn't exactly bring out the best in Floyd. I would say he brought out the brawler in Floyd. Mosley I think brought out the best in Floyd in the fight. Corrales brought out the best in Floyd in the Vegas odds and people not giving Floyd a chance against him in the build up. In this one I think a lot of people know Floyd is going ot beat Pacquiao.
He's not fighting for 40 million, who's to believe he'd do it for 20
HBO Brass are too funny. They let a media indistinct guy like Harold stroll through the casino lobby and patronize $May in an effort to mitigate the whip lash from Greenburg's corroboration on Bob's stance last week. HBO playing both sides of the fence and having to drag poor ole Lederman into the picture cuz Lampley or the other drunk Merchant woulda been too obvious. Good try HBO but your boy Harold already creamed himself over the clash b/w Manny & Cheato so this brown nosing attempt of $May was pointless.
These P4P rankings are better than any ranking with Floyd as a P4P champ.
youre officially a RETARD !

Biggest load of bullshit i have ever read. Floyd has openly stated on numerous occasions that he is only interested in money. "Legacy don't pay bills" is what he told R.A. Rugged man when he was questioned about not fighting the best fighters.
lederman is a c0ck
de la hoya topped hendenaz so i dont know what that idiot lederman his talking about maybe he needs to sort his ****ing voice out
Manny doesn't deserve 50/50 tho. And.. Manny is on PEDs.. extraordinairy. On the real, I always felt that Floyd will fight Manny. But if it doesn't happen next year, I can't see it any ohter way.
