Not yet. If they do an immediate rematch, Pirog would still win. He was letting Jacobs hit him and he just laugh it off. Whereas Jacob already felt Pirog's punches in round 2. Unless Jacobs suddenly became a master boxer, Pirog would pressure him to death now. We'll see maybe 2-3 years down the line.
It would be very difficult for Jacobs to win that fight. If Danny fought the perfect gameplan and made no mistakes, yeah he could win but it would be very hard to do. I would take Pirog in the rematch. That doesn't mean Jacobs was exposed or anything like that though. Pirog is a good fighter and sometimes a certain style just doesn't suit certain fighters, this is one for Jacobs.
jacobs was looking to fight at his own pace, relax after throwing combinations and recompose himself to set up another one. pirog fought at a higher pace and looked like he studied jacobs well cuz everytime jacobs would ease up pirog would set up his hard sharp counters
unless jacobs learns how to deal with pressure and fights at a higher pace a rematch would be a rerun of last nights fight
I don't think he'll get a rematch soon and getting KO'd by a prospect after a good career start can do a lot of damage, some boxers just can't forget it...
I still think Pirog would get to him eventually...maybe a rematch down the line but not now...
I thought the fight was even up to the 5th though...
Pirog is a good fighter...
An untested prospect fighting for a world title does not get an immediate rematch after getting knocked out. If he beats someone good, he could get a rematch probably.
