Always said it. He just always never had that x-factor about him and I have always never rated him highly.
Pirog really took him apart and exploted him.
am I missing something? when was Jacobs ever really that highly rated???
I was and still is a good young fighter with a lot of potential, I don't remember many people hyping him that much though
yep. You had some posters say he could be very good, which is a true statement. But very very few people were hyping him to be this big breakout star.
He's a good fighter with a lot of potential, who got beat by a better fighter at this stage in his career. thats all there is to it.

Are you the same JerseySugar that voted for a easy KO by Jacobs over Pirog ?
I don't think jacobs was overrated, he's very talented. I think he still has a future, he could learn alot from this.... if he's not gunshy from here on out...
I think the deal is, Golden Boy really underated pirog....
Well thats the thing, the dude cant fight on the backfoot, hes still got power, he just cant use it at all going backwards, Jacobs has good pop in his punches though, maybe not top class but there definately something there.
i just dont see that snap in his punches that punchers with power have. his jab is a flick and if his right aint over the top its more of a stab or even a push punch.
imo, he doesnt have the power to be a power boxer. doesnt have the elusiveness or instincts to be a pure boxer. and he doesnt look like he's good at setting traps or transitioning from defense to offense to be an exceptional counter puncher.
i honestly dont think he even knows what his identity is as a boxer.
I honestly thought he was the real deal, theres no denying hes got the skills , speed and power to be a top fighter, but the Sky analysts were saying Jacobs is used to being the bully in the ring, and basically today he came up against a bigger bully and couldnt handle the pressure. I think they are right....
Jacobs defence looked pretty shocking though I gotta say, that big right hand was inevitable
Pirog was coming over top of Jacobs jab and landing counter rights quite easily, that suprised me.
jacobs power was severely overrated. u see his punches? now he's forced to be more of a boxer and cant sit down on his punches and his lack of power is even more evident

Siggy's right, I said before the fight Danny's gotta box this guy...and it became apparent he REALLY had to box him, and that's not his style so much...
After the first round I realized Danny was in trouble...couldn't get Pirog's respect and was all over the ring in no time...smh

i knew jacobs was destined to be exposed as soon as he stepped up his comp. dude has no snap on his punches to keep the pressure off him and isnt elusive enough to be a pure boxer
But if he was as talented and good as every1 said he was, he should of put up a much better fighter.......imo
You're right to a certain extent, but people should have looked into Pirog.
Strongly disagree, the main issue here was that people didn't watch enough of Pirog, people didn't know much about him. He was beaten by the much better man.
