How would Williams fare?
He would never box at the same level again. Hagler takes his shots stays close works his body drops him. switches to orthodox confuses Williams lets him throw hundreds of worthless punches while countering and backing up williams eventually stopping him on a cut or stopping him.
Id say Williams would last longer than Hearns. Williams has a better chin imo, he also has a better inside game imo.
Hagler would win, however i dont agree that just cause Hearns is a better fighter that he would last longer than Williams, Williams has a better chin when all said and done, Margarito hit Williams bang on the chin toward the end of their fight and Williams did not flinch, Quintana hit him at will at times, even Phillips caught him clean, they did not really hurt him.
Maybe its just me, but I think the HEARNS from that night would have taken out PWill in couple of rounds too.
Ya same here i dont think many here would disagree
what kind of question is this? That was a blood thirsty Hagler in killer mode, I can't even think of many MW fighters in history who would hold up to that war..
but also let's remember, Hagler didn't normally fight like that.....Hearns went for broke against Hagler do to him getting a massage (or so they claim) and felt he didn't have the legs to hold up for 12....so yeah he came out bombing on Hagelr, and once Marvin ate up that vicious right hand on the skull Hearns fired at him it was pretty much over
Williams has a leaky defense, especially against southpaws. Hagler in his usual boxing style would probably break down Williams and stop him in the mid rounds. Hagler in the aggressive style he fought Hearns would probably stop him even sooner.
Williams has that long neck and skinny frame which sometimes makes it seem like the punches are worse than they are, his head goes back and forth like a swingset, but this time it isn't merely a case of looking worse than than it is.
Yeah, but I'm talking about the Hagler that came out fight Hearns.
I'd say he started rather quickly :lol1:
Well in that case, Pavlik might not even make it 3 or 4 rounds. Pavlik is tough, but you can only take so much.
Pavlik might last to mid rounds as he is durable with a good jab and Hagler generally was not a fast starter.
It would just be a matter of time though. Hagler would chop his body up and then take off his head after 5 or 6 rounds.
Yeah, but I'm talking about the Hagler that came out to fight Hearns.
I'd say he started rather quickly :lol1:
