Think about it. Floyd knows his strength is his ring intelligence and counterpunching. he also knows that pac's biggest advantage is his speed and dynamic punching. isn't speed the first thing that disappears with age?
i think floyd will wait for pac to go through margarito and a few more opponents. i wouldn't be surprised if pac takes on several other top guys around welterweight to super welterweight in the next couple of years, and slowly get more and more distracted from boxing as he focuses on politics. the minute that pac shows a sign of slowing down and weakening, floyd will call him out publicly and call him a pussy if he doesn't fight.
it's a smart strategy, and fits with floyd's pattern in the last couple of years of trying to weaken his opponents before taking them on (making hatton and marquez fatten up, waiting for mosley to age and overtrain after preparing for berto). and frankly, pac will fight floyd.
Nah, No contradiction and since i cant deal with you attacking me for no reason over us discussing boxing like adults am done. I only discuss with people who are mature enough to talk and discuss like adult, I dont have to stand for Verbal abuse over the internet. You probably a pacquiao fan which says a lot.
Ray: Jmm and Mosley would NEVER land any big punch on floyd 3 years ago...NONE!!
Ray a post later: Ok, maybe they would land one punch, but they and NO ONE else would land flush TWICE in a ROW against mayweather 3 years ago
lol @ reed, just keep suckin each other off
cotto has good movement? new to me. he was a sitting duck, well until he got on his bike...literally.
He has decent movement... I never said he had great movement.
He certainly doesn't "plod forward" though. He uses his legs a decent degree.
Pavlik plods.
you only need to read your posts to see the contradiction

3 Years ago neither JMM or Mosley would have land any big right hand on Mayweather...None.
My point is NO WAY would any fighter land flush twice in a roll against Mayweather 3 years ago, Especially a NON-southpaw fighter.
That's what I said.
You know Floyd is technically sound, and textbook based.
But even the shoulder roll is reflex based.
Do you agree 3 years ago that Mosley right hand doesn't even land?
You still have to have the reflexes to go into the roll before the punch comes in.
3 Years ago neither JMM or Mosley would have land any big right hand on Mayweather...None.
right, ofcourse this is what you mean
that's why your last post completely contradicts this :ugh:
Lol, Why are you sooo sentitive? Reediculous post above and my reply to the "Right hand" that Mosley landed and the one JMM land on Mayweather.. What contradiction? And why are you soo attacking and sentitive for? lol I dont get it.
yeah, against stationary targets that plod fwd andwho are on the downsides of their careers rather than upsides
Cotto is stationary and plods forward?
It's also worked well with Pac, if he's lost his speed, that's ok because he's moved up in weight... guys at welterweight are generally going to be a bit slower anyways than guys at 130.
But he's going to need the power to be able to compete at welterweight, and the power has come along with pac.
Who said he never got touch? Arent you a bit sensitive? My point is NO WAY would any fighter land flush twice in a roll against Mayweather 3 years ago, Especially a NON-southpaw fighter.
right, ofcourse this is what you mean
that's why your last post completely contradicts this :ugh:
tho your change of mind must mean you've pulled some of your head out of floyds ass, if only you could get the whole thing out
well, the floyd that fought oscar didn't impress me too much.
Well two things with that fight.
ONE...Oscar fought extremely well, was well conditioned and very strong in that fight.
Oscar came to fight in that fight, and he would have given anyone a run for their money on that night.
TWO... Floyd is well removed from his optimal weight class at 154. He looked very small in there at 150 against a 154lb Oscar.
but you know, i actually agree with a lot of what you're saying. floyd needs reflexes to fight at his level. but i maintain that if floyd and pac fought each other in 5 years, pac will probably have deteriorated a lot more, and floyd would have much greater chances of winning. that's why he's gonna wait. and wait.
I think in 2 years I give Pac a better chance.
Pac will be 33... Floyd will be almost 36 years old.
At 33, you still have most of your athletic tools, at 36... reflexes definitely start to deteriorate, along with lateral movement.
BIG emphasis on lateral movement.
In 5 years?
Advantage back to Floyd.
Floyd will be 38, Pac will be 36, and I agree... the speed and workrate of Pac is going to subdue.
Actually a fight 5 years from now could end up being a much more competitive fight than it would right now.
I think prime for prime Floyd is just too good fundamenetally for Pac... but both past their prime, they both may slow down enough to the point that it's a lot more competitive... Kind of like Roy-Tito.
I especially expect Floyds punch output to drop in the coming years.
With age you also get that reluctance to throw as much. You end up thinking more than acting.
um... this is the same floyd who went through hell against castillo. he's not perfect and never has been.
No one is perfect NONE, But 3 years ago Mayweather wouldnt get hit with right hand punches twice in a roll while he could see it coming.. He saw both JMM right hand coming and he couldnt react like he use to in the past, He did the exact samething against Mosley...I hope you guys actually study a fight when you watch one.
same way he never ate a right hand from corley or the other countless fighters, you make it seem like he went whole fights without getting touched
Who said he never got touch? Arent you a bit sensitive? My point is NO WAY would any fighter land flush twice in a roll against Mayweather 3 years ago, Especially a NON-southpaw fighter.
No it isn't the same Floyd.
Floyd was about 24 years old and hadn't perfected his craft to the extent he did a few years later.
He also had an injured hand in the first fight.
Prime Castillo was also no tomato can.

well that goes with out saying. same goes for pac. while hes a slighty better fighter now, he doesnt have the speed, he once had.
but, floyds footwork is still the best. and if roach andpac going in there thinking that floyds legs are gone, they are in for fighter thats going to end rather quickly for pac.
either way, when they fight. i see floyd using his legs to judge the distance with pac. once he find pacs range. floyd will began to plant his feet, walk pac down and put some serious mustard on his shots.
The difference with pac is, what he has lost in speed he has doubled up in strength and power.
3 Years ago neither JMM or Mosley would have land any big right hand on Mayweather...None.

dude's career is a facade, he's made a career in having rough times and drawn out battles against subpar and past prime competition
So while Pac is slowing down what the hell is Floyd doing? Getting more sharp?
LMAO.
no.
age hits everyone. but it hits speedy aggressive fighters worse than it hits counterpunchers. floyd will still be smart at 40, but he'll be slower. like hopkins. 40+ year old pac would probably be slaughtered by pound-for-pound types if he's still fighting in 10 years.

Exactly bro. Any body who watched Floyd earlier knows Floyd has already lost alot of physically. Hes just so damn good mentally he gets away with it.
Marquez's right hand doesnt land either.
