You guys call Floyd many things, mainly insults, but aside from his weight penalty vs Marquez, Floyd is a clean even Steveens fighter. He has no history of demanding catchweights, no illegal wraps, he doesn't headbutt, throw low blows, no PED'S, he doesn't clinch and punch...the only thing he may do is use his elbow to create space and that's just great boxing imo. So until he steps in the ring again I'm giving props today for what he has accomplished and thats setting a standard for clean fighting. He doesn't have to result to Bernard Hopkins like tactics or wrestling like Hatton, Mayweather is 100% skill. Got to love that.
What in the world do you mean, "Floyd uses his elbows tactically"? So because using his elbows to the throat and face of his opponent is part of his strategy and not some spur of the moment reckless act, you think it isn't dirty or illegal?
Are you implying that Floyd never hit his opponent deliberately with his elbows to their jaw , because that's not tactical, that's down right dirty, intentional, and illegal. Just watch the fight against DLH, Hatton, and Judah, very obvious and deliberate.
When has Floyd ever been penalized for using those so-called "dirty tactics"? Anyone?
Why hasn't anyone protested to the commissions that he's been using dirty tactics in fights? Anyone?
Naw man, even after OST testing these guys will suspect him. Its like Lance, Bolt and Phelps...they're tested more than anybody else on the planet and are still suspect by their haters.
Lance is a little different from the other 2 but yes that is true. Some people just cant give credit where its due and find it easier to accuse someone else just because they cant beat them
Its pretty much human nature IMO
Aside from the obvious elbows in the Baldonmir and Hatton bouts. Mayweather is not dirty. I have no proof of pain killers being used so I can't comment on that.
yes, at least this is being acknowledged, because, floyd is a fairly dirty fighter, and steadily turns away or takes away the target area, ie turning his back, bending below the waist, which is not legal to do in the general accordance of the rules of boxing. it's a move he steadily gets away with, i'm a fan of great defense and floyd does have that, but he also crosses the line into the "out of bounds" with some of that defense. im sure it's natural and not a conscious decision, at least in the heat of an exchange or barrage.
but yeah, floyd gets away with a lot of rule breaking and gets credit for it under the guise of defense. im not hating, because i'm a hopkins diehard, which i appreciate the dirty inside fight, but it has to be called out and not go unnoticed.
also, one thing that i've noticed, no one fights as subtly dirty as hopkins, because he has the ability to make the most innocuous moment a great opportunity for a physical yet mind game tactic in pulling a dirty feat. since a lot of the times in the later half of his career, hopkins has been able to make fights ugly, so dirty tactics go unnoticed, when a guy like floyd or any other fighter goes dirty, it's obvious as hell. people tend to not see or think of any fouling coming from a pot shot style of fighter, only brutes but it happens.........
This is what I ussually ask my friends whenever we watch a floyd fight, we always spent hours discussing floyd's illegal moves...
For one, always whenever that floyd got caught in a corner he will surely turnaround preventing his opponents to throw punches at him coz in boxing it is illegal to punch someone at the back of the head...
And another, when you bend your upper body too low, as in your head almost touches the ground, I think that is a bitch move as well coz by doing that floyd is now exposing the backside of his head preventing the other guy to throw punches at him again......
I often said those are not boxing skills, slick boxers like Willie Pep, Whitaker, Toney and Ray Robinson to name a few often dodge their opponents punches with quick body, shoulder and arm movements avoiding that illegal moves of floyd...
NOW THAT IS BOXING MY FRIEND

You tell me now!! Do you have any proof of any kind that manny is taking peds?!!! All you have are allegations that stems from the foul-mouthed bum floyd sr. YOU HAVE NO PROOF MAN!!! Then it was heard just recently, that manny agreed to the OST kind of testing already just to lure chicken floyd to a fight, but chicken floyd opted to just walk away...

I have no doubt some small portion of it is deliberate or at least careless, but I also think that most of it is because of how he holds his left arm.
Floyd uses his elbow tactically, it isn't nowhere similar to Hatton's wrestling whichis every minute of every round. Floyd doesn't even hit opponents on the back of the head like many fighters do.

He certainly does fight dirty. He throws elbows, he ducks below the waist, he uses his knees to turn his opponents etc. He isn't Bernard Hopkins or Evander Holyfield but he has his fair share of dirty tricks that he uses.

Ellerbe sure made it him out to be one he claimed Floyd never injected Xylocaine when he's on camera ADMITTING to Merchant to he has. I don't want to hear this "it is legal in Nevada" bullshit either because Ellerbe made it seem like Xylocaine was crack or some shit.

You can say the exact same thing with Manny, except for the fact that Manny doesn't intentionally elbow anyone, and that for me is cheating. If you can use your elbow, that can do a lot of damage. Funny how you're okay with the elbow but you disapprove of Hatton's wrestling, quite selective aren't you when it comes to illegal tactics. BTW, he fought lightweight JMM in a catch weight match of 144lbs, whether he degmanded for it or not is irrelevant.
