Im getting tired of people even saying this guy is feared because the fact is this guy isnt anything to be scared off.
Hes 34 and hes already lost twice plus hes been knocked out by Jose Rojas who Gamboa beat.
In his last fight he only got a UD despite pounding on his defenceless opponant for a full 10 rounds.
The guy wasnt mounting much of a defence he had his chin up alot and just threw alot of punches thats all i could see nothing special there, he doesnt even use his height he jus stays infront of you throwing alot of punches.
Why are people afraid of this guy again?
Gamboa was going to fight Rojas in a unification bout in his next fight, they had a date set but Rojas pulled out with injury.
The way i see it is Caballero is an average to good fighter but not all he's cracked up to be. His mouth has got him a reputation and he tries to talk himself into big fights rather than earn it by fighting top 10 guys.
I don't see any reason for Gamboa or Juanma to fight him until he does his talking in the ring and gets more active. Why didn't Caballero try to make the fight with Rojas instead of Gamboa? Why has he only had 1 fight at FW when Juanma has had 2 fights, won a title and already has a third FW fight lined up.
Crap.
So these guys who are fighting fringe contenders and over the hill undersized guys should get a pass? Being active means getting fights, they ran from him already at jfw. Dude has fought enough mid level guys and beltholders and beat them.
And the last sentence shows a lack of understanding of how boxing works. Check the promoter.
the mother ****er needs to do like everyone else beat someone in the top 10 of the featherwieght division before u call out the big dogs.
He hasnt even fought at featherwieght so he cant call fuuuk all out!
he's been chasing these guys up weight classes. he was a unified champ. DUH!!!!!!
For people who are saying caballero hasn't earned his shot, that dude beat Molitor at 122 where he unified his title. He's also beat some other decent fighters. His day is definitely way overdue.
Caballero is better then anyone Gamboa or Lopez has ever fought.
I hope Rojas gives Caballero a shot. Gamboa hasn't beaten anyone and as gqjohnb said, Caballero would be the best name on Juanma's and Gamboa's resume right now. So what is the problem?

instead of slapping his punches...he might be able to really do something. Until then...he's not impressed me or alot of anyone else.
loooooooool agreed:hijacked:
He's doing the right thing to call out the fighters...and as we all know...there aren't any sanctioned height limits. So...the Williams, Funekas, and Caballeros of the world may campaign at which ever weight class they like.
That being said, I don't like Caballero's dirty tactics in the ring. He does have a big mouth, and he is just "ok" technically. Gamboa is probably the best of the three.
i agree with this.
As soon as he learns how to punch

Bro,ask urself 1 question,if El Pelenchin isn't any good & both Gamboa or Lopez destroy him, then why oh why don't they just do it??Why don't they fight him & shut him up??They are clearly avoiding him for some reason, right??:dunno:

Well he ain't gonna work his way up if no one is willin' to give him a shot.

He's still earned a shot against these guys. Both Lopez and Gamboa are very young in their careers and haven't done enough to just push a fighter like him to the side like nothing. A win against Caballero would be the biggest win in both Gamboa and Lopez's careers. I don't know about them being scared but he has as much a right to be called feared as Margarito was not to long ago when calling out the big names. In fact he has much more of a right when you compare who the two were calling out.
physical disadvantage.
Paul Williams is 6'3'' with an 82" reach and will kill himself to make 147....against guys 9 inches shorter than him (Bradley, pacquiao) with 68" reach.
Caba is 5'11'' with 72" reach...calling out Gamboa (5'5", 65" reach).
I understand Tyson was short and he fought much bigger guys...but they were nobodies. When he DID fight much bigger skilled fighters, he got destroyed.
He doesn't get a shot simply because of the physical disadvantages. Gamboas and JML's trainers ain't havin it.
Dude, what else does he have to do then? I don't think Juanma or Gamboa are afraid either, but this ain't right. Give the man a shot.
