I forget what round it was when he first nailed Cotto with that huge bodyshot but is was sick and Cotton felt it the whole fight.
Im not sold that Pac can take legit, hard body punches.
Cotto landed on his elbows and didnt really get him in the right spot.
JMM hurt him with a body shot.
Can Margarito hurt him to the body?
I agree for the most part but vs. Cotto and Clottey Pacquiao planted and traded alot during both fights. Especially vs. Clottey.
I dont see him changing up and turning into this master boxer by November. I think he will stand and trade with Margarito too.
He will fight him the way he fought Oscar De La Hoya, and the fight will look exactly the same minus Tony quitting.
Ya would be interesting if Marg caught Manny to the body but the punch that will be the winner for Tony if he wants to do well is that uppercut its ****ing lethal
Marg is too slow to keep up with Manny. I have a feeling the fight is gonna look similar to De La Hoya vs Pacquiao. Pac's gonna zip in and out and give Marg angles he can't defend. One thing I've noticed with Pacquiao is he picks and chooses his battles in the ring. He did it to Cotto, he did it with Clottey, and I believe he'll do it with Margarito. It's gonna be an embarrassing night for Marg.
Burner, there are soo many things to look at here,Margarito is a really big welterweight, but he's coming in bigger!!He throws a lot of punches,a lot!!I think people look at his destruction at the hands of Mosley & assumes Pacman does the same!!Mosley is bigger than Pacman & has been rumored to lift 300 pounds, what I'm saying is Mosley was a physically strong maybe the strongest at 147!!Pacman will be wayy smaller,he isn't pushing Margarito around & he does get hit!!Pressure is what Margarito is,if Pacman can't hurt him with 1 shot, there will be an upset in the air because Margarito has great stamina & stays strong,if Pacman doesn't hurt him early,he might get stopped late!!

Great thread...Margo does pack a MEAN uppercut on the inside. It would be tough to land a shot with a target that bounces around you. He'd have to cut the ring off and literally have to throw manny to the ropes and go to town on him. Even then Manny would move away. I'd give Margo a puncher's chance. I do believe if Margo landed a good clean punch...Manny might respect the power.
I wouldn't bet on Margarito with your money. Mosley showed how easily you can wear down Margs, Pacquiao is faster, stronger, and in much, much better condition.
The only positive aspect of this fight is that we'll get to see Margs get pummeled into hopeful retirement.

Yeah but that was by choices, he stood in front of Cotto to see what he had. He stood in front of Clottey because he felt he had nothing to be afraid of. I doubt he'd do the same with Margarito, Pacquiao is a guy who moves in and out and side to side. He doesn't have to be a master boxer to beat Margarito, he just has to do what he always does.
I dont think Pac will allow margarito to tag him like Cotto vs Foreman style bodyshot
He'll probably let him bang away for a few seconds but thats when Pac allows it to happen and tenses his abs so it doesnt hurt.
No one can dispute that Pacquiao is the faster fighter. If Pacquiao can not hurt Margarito then he will be in for a very long night.People underestimate Margarito,he's one hell of a fighter. In as much as Pacquiao is fast, anyone who comes to fight hits him a lot.I am not convinced Pacquiao will be able to take those shots from the Tijuana Tornado.I'm actually betting on it
Margarito especially, needs a stationary target to throw body punches. Pac won't be stationary.
And even if he does decide to stand still like he did with Cotto...it's him doing it by choice. If it's not working he'll begin to move around.
cotto landed on pac's body. pac commented several times how he wanted to test cotto's power & pretended that the punches didnt hurt but in reality they did hurt.
stop parroting what a flomo poster said about cotto not really working pac's body. pac tasted it, & spit it out.
you do know about the stick training to the body method of pac right?
another useless knee jerk reactionary thread.
What? The blows that ricocheted off his elbows?
You normally need an opponent to stand still to land body shots on him, unless Pacquiao decides to stand in front of Margarito like he did with Cotto, I can't really see how Margarito would be able to corner Pacquiao to get his body shots in. JMM managed to hit Pacquiao to the body but he did it with counterpunching, Margarito's counterpunching is.......well it isn't.
