this thread is a joke for many reasons
first, the catch-weight only benefits one person, and that is the fighter going up in weight
so mentionning Jones name when he had to go down 5 pounds to meet Trinidad at 170, that's just bullshit
mentionning Hopkins and Mayweather is also bullshit, because they were the ones going down in weight
You clowns..there are two people who agree to fight in catchweights, not one! Either one of those fighters can disagree if they think its unfair. Once they both sign on the dotted line, it means they both agreed. Neither one of those fighters should be called a bitch IMO.
you can tell this guy don't know shit about boxing
LIST The Fights In Which They Fought At A Catchweight at least:nonono:
by the way I don't have problem with the Catchweight I have more a problem with you are moving up to someones weight class and you have the Champion meet you at a catchweight that is a JOKE
dont take this guy seriously
he posted yesterday that sergio mora is one of the best fighters at 154 :nonono:
Floyd Never fought for a TITLE at a catchweight..
Bernard fought and won the MW and LHW titles at there respective limits. Tarver weighed 175 for their bout...
Thread fail.
They all fought at catchweights but not all of them were the ones WHO DEMANDED the catchweight
CungLe is a floyd fan posing as a pacquiao fan BTW . he messaged me
So that 1 pound Floyd went down really affected him negatively while those 11 pounds Marquez gained really helped him, huh?
That statement is just ridiculos
Catchweights are for the benefit of the fighter moving up. What part of that do you not understand?
it aint no catch weight if in the contract is STATES to fight at a certain weight 130 135 140 147 154 160 175 etc...
ffloyd fought de la hoya at light middle weight... oscar did 154 and floyd 150... thats not really concidered a 'catch weigght'
I own Fugu with scientific evidence and only thing he did is post fake article which he wrote for hours!
Like I said Mosley demanded 60/40 split!
Now you gonna say that those emails were true?
bwahahahahahahaha
There's no law against "demanding" any kind of split, to initiate negotiations; it's the rule rather than the exception. Years ago when I bought a property I offered $171,000, although it was listed for $335,000. I finally bought it for $194,000. Later sold it for $287,500. Another, later again, asking price $47,500 I offered $$25,000, closed at $30,000. Still have it.
The negotiation, or bargaining for purses is no different from any other commodity. It's the law of supply and demand. When pride and ignorance come into it, then things get messy.
If reluctance and superstition are there, like the Manny P. Mayweather thing, we can see what happens. If, despite that, the fight was still made, it would have been priced, including all the concessions on both sides, according to the "supply and demand" rule.
This isnt Mcdonalds sissy

okay let me get this straight...
- So Shane wanted 50-50 since at that time he had biggest PPV numbers then Pacquiao had... Pacquiao disagrees and wants 60-40 and then Shane accepts his offer
- So then Shane wants to fight at 147 but Pacquiao disagrees and asks for a 142lb catchweight... Shane then agrees to make the fight happen
- Pacquiao then being shocked that Shane agree to both pulled out of the negotiations and begins negotiations with Miguel Cotto instead and Roach cites Mosley as being "too skilled"
lmao... wow and you say Shane owned himself?... I'm stating nothing but facts here but to you hardcore Pacquiao fans "facts" don't exist in your world... Manny can do no wrong
On what drugs are you?
Pacquiao had 1.25 million with Hoya and 900 + K against Hatton and Shane deserve 50-50 split or 60-40?
WTF is not wrong with you?
I recall reading, at that time, a purported quote from Mosley enlarging on the "142" comment.
He went on to say that he could even get down to 140 if they want.
yea man i remember that to when Manny pulled out the negotiationg Mosley said he'd even fight him at 140... but hey there's not use of arguing with this CunLe guy we've already owned him like 10 times in this thread... he's an idiot, i'm out

not this many times for titles... He fought De La Hoya, Cotto, and now Margarito at catchweights... If you wanna be real Clottey said he couldn't make 147 anymore before the Pacquiao offer came around and that he was moving to 154 so he actually fought Clottey at a catchweight to lol... Last year the Mosley fight fell through because Manny said he would only fight Mosley at 142lb catchweight as well

World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight champion “Sugar” Shane Mosley thinks Manny Pacquiao will get a better deal if he decides to get in the ring with him instead of World Boxing Organization (WBO) champ Miguel Cotto.
“A fight with me will make more money. I know there have been numbers going on out there like Cotto making 5 or 6 million and Manny making 10, 11 or 12. But in a fight with me, he will make more money,” Mosley said in an interview with boxing analyst Julius Stecker.
Mosley said he could not see how a Pacquiao-Cotto fight would be much bigger than a match with him especially after the Puerto Rican’s split decision win over Clottey.
He said a Pacquiao-Cotto match up is not exactly what fight fans would like to see.
“And why fight Cotto? He almost lost to Joshua Clottey. It was a fight that he easily could have lost. Cotto ran around the ring in the last few rounds. The fight with Cotto is not the best fight for boxing or fight fans, or Manny Pacquiao fans,” said Mosley.
Mosley has reportedly offered a 40-60 revenue share favoring Pacquiao just to get the Filipino to fight him.
Aside from the higher revenue cut, Mosley has also offered to meet Pacquiao at the 144-pound catch weight.
“I am trying to make the fight happen. I threw a bone out to Pacquiao saying I would fight him at 144. I am the Welterweight Champion of the World, Cotto isn’t. I am the former Pound for Pound champion, Cotto isn’t. Pacquiao is the pound for pound champion. We should be fighting. Bob Arum is not letting this happen,” said the WBA champion.
Arum is strongly pushing for a fight between Cotto and Pacquiao who are both under his promotional outfit. However, fight fans will have to wait until November 14 for the fight to materialize. Arum said they have given Cotto some time to let the cut that he sustained against Clottey heal.
“Even if you look at Cotto’s gash, do you think it will heal in time? It might just open up again if he fights Pacquiao. The fans need to know that the best and biggest fight in boxing right now is with me,” said Mosley.
He added that their “similarities” would make the fight more interesting for the fans.
"Manny and me are the same. We will fight anybody…That is what I do, I am a fighter. I fought guys nobody would fight, Vernon Forrest, and Winky Wright. That is the same with Manny,” said Mosley.
The WBA champion, who recently demolished Cotto beater Antonio Margarito, said Pacquiao should weigh things carefully if he’s thinking about his legacy for the sport.
“Do the right thing, Manny. Fight the best fight for the fans, and the best fight for your legacy. You have nothing to lose by fighting me. There will be more prestige in fighting me then Cotto. I will enhance your legacy. Whatever Bob Arum money can offer you, I can offer more and then some,” he said.

Mosley offers 40-60 split to fight Pacquiao
Reigning World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight champion Shane Mosley has decided to push the envelope further by offering a 40-60 split in favor of Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao just to be able to fight him.
A press release issued by Mosley’s camp said the US boxer has agreed to a smaller purse of 40 percent just to meet Pacquiao in the ring.
Mosley’s camp came out with the release after Pacquiao agreed to the WBA champion’s dare for a fight in the 144-pound catch weight.
“Now that Manny has stated that he is ready to fight me, the only thing left to finish are negotiations. Richard Schaefer and Bob Arum are working out the details now. I will be ready to fight Pacquiao on October 17th,” Mosley said in a statement.
Mosley earlier said in an interview with RingTV.com that he would not allow money to become an issue to make the match possible.
“I think we can make it easy. Everyone does the money thing; they want this, they want that. It’s like they try to prevent it from happening,” he said.
However, Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum said there is no deal yet.
"Manny hasn't decided who he's going to fight," Arum said according to LATimes.com. "It could be Mosley, or it could be Cotto, Mayweather Jr., Marquez or Valero. They're all in the mix."
Arum insisted that the Filipino will make no decision about his next opponent until after the June 13 world welterweight title fight between Cotto and Joshua Clottey.
"Why would I eliminate options?" said Arum, who admitted that he was contacted by Golden Boy Promotion’s Richard Schaefer for the Pacquiao-Mosley fight.
Arum said that Team Pacquiao is also waiting for the Mayweather-Marquez fight on July 18 before making a decision.
"All that he's said is that he's willing to fight Mosley. But he still has to explore the best deal," said the Top Rank Promoter.
Scientific evidence that Cotto demanded himself out of Pacquiao fight, funniest thing is that he and GBP wanted 50 50 split against Pacquiao.
And the he offered 60/40 and I prove it and Pacquiao fought winner of Cotto Mosley and got 75 % against Cotto and did some great numbers!
lmao you just ethered your self in your own post... you loose
