I dont know how many of you guys follow amateur boxing but you guys need to take a good look at this 2 time olympian Rau'Shee Warren.. This kid got the tools to turn pro and win a title right away this kid is the best American boxer since Floyd Mayweather coming out of the amatuers.. Just puttin you guys on notice..
we shall see .. should be interesting.. Lomachenko is a bad ass for sure.. but warren can box for sure.. should be an exciting matchup.. but i think Lomachenko weighs more than him if im not mistaken.. anyways.. what gym u train at?
Yeah they are two many weight classes apart. I think 126 may be the ceiling for Warren and maybe even 130 but that is it. Like that one guy said, Lomachenko will turn pro at 135 and by the time warren even gets close to that, Lomachenko would have moved up as well.
BTW I noticed that you box amateur in New York. How familar are you with Deandre Browne. I'm just curious as to if he has worked on his discipline because he has the talent to be great, only if he improves on his attitude and discipline in the ring.
they're all sh!t out of luck when vasyl goes pro. Pound for pound best AM fighter in the world with a pro style off the bat. Been following hiscareer since 06. They're all done in his weight class

If he's fighting around 117 at 23 years old i don't imagine he'll get that big. He better hope not as Vasyl Lomachenko (22) will turn pro around the 135 range and Warren will be fuk out of luck along with anyone else in his division.

Edit: year typo
Explain this more please.
Never heard of this and I always told that no matter what, that if you become a prized fighter your eligibility to amateur boxing is over. So that would include Olympics.
But yeah I'm excited to see Rau as a pro one day. And don't let his weight fool you he can get exposure because he is just a fun fighter to watch. Plus he will naturally get bigger with age and eventually be at least at 132-140.

He's only 23?!
Yeah he is one of my favorite amateur fighters along with Pedro Sosa, and Steven Martinez (although Martinez turned pro last fall If I'm not mistaken). Yeah that WSB is a deal to allow amateurs to get money and put them on a yearly salary. I didn't read any of you links tho but I think it's 15k for each bout and a 350k yearly salary or something like that.
I'm gonna put him in my avi as soon as I finish mocking Floyd fans...lol but on a serious note the fight that I was most looking forward to was him vs Rigondeaux in the 2008 olympics. Warren was blantantly robbed so the fight never materilized. Then Rigondeaux defected killing any chance of them facing off for a second time.
Just to let peeps now how nice the kid is, outside of his bouts on youtube, he fought rigondeaux in 05 I believe (he was 18 or 19 at the time) and barely lost to him on points. The rematch was gonna be crazy though.
The few knocks on him are this:
I don't like the knucklehead crew he has arround him. Also he won't turn pro until after the 2012 olympics, making him 25 years old when he finally decides to turn pro. This sucks because he will be like Ivan Calderon in a sense that he will waste his prime years as an amateur. I just don't get why he didn't turn pro in 08 because this wasn't the first time he was robbed and I wouldn't be shocked if he is robbed again in 2012.
BTW I can go on and on about the kid but yeah I have been following amateur boxing for years.
Yea Sosa is a very good fighter.. He just won the nationals at 141 .. but my boy beat him in the golden gloves a couple months ago.. heres a nice vid of Pedro Sosa

I don't follow amateurs hardly at all but I do remember him when I was watching highlights from all the fights at the national golden gloves this year. He was impressive...
Also as much as I disklike Roger Mayweather, he would be the perfect trainer for Rau'shee Warren and Michael Hunter. Their styles fit perfectly into how Roger trains his fighters.

Reminds me of a prime RJJ.....needs to keep the left up as all it takes is one good right to put you away...awesome speed and reflexes though....same with a prime Roy
yea actually hes turning pro to fight in the WSB(World series of Boxing) which basically are pro fights they get paid for.. 5 round fights, no headgear with 10 point must system.. but they maintain their olympic eligibilty.. so the guys who fight for WSB only fight other guys who signed contracts with WSB and they still are eligible for the Olympics..

How old is Raushee now? He fought in the last Olympics as well if I'm not mistaken. He must be in his early twenties now. Truth be told, he and the entire American squad were pretty poor in the last games and I don't have high hopes for any of them, but best of luck.
Isn't he waiting until after the 2012 Olympics to go pro?
