Because he is on "THE LIST."
On Freddie "The Vulture" Roach's hit-list.
The Criteria in which to get on the list is as follow:
Past Prime.
Weight-drained
Have lost a fight in one of your last few fights in which you showed signs of decline. The biggy in this, if you were KO'd in that loss, you get an automatic red-X paint splash on your back as you are walking out of the ring.
So which does Floyd fall into?
Option 1...Past prime.
According to Roach, a while back, Floyd's best days were in the 130's and hasn't shown signs of that greatness at 147+.
Not only that, more recently after the Mosley fight, he mentioned how he thought Floyd's legs are "shot."
Although I disagree with them being "shot," I do think it is more like the difference between a Pre-exile Ali and a Post-exile Ali at this point if you compare Floyd at 23 compared to 33.
The rest; punch-out-put decline and overall speed decline from head to toe. Not just in the hands but how fast he moves his upper-body has declined. I thought that as early as the Judah fight.
What has stayed is his technique is still solid along with his timing and accuracy for the most part. However, since he is a bit slower now, I've noticed he seems to miss certain punches that he probably would have connected with before.
So why may Floyd be stalling, if he is at all?
Not quite positive.
Could be Roger, could be the fact that he is 33 years old, is a part-time fighter now, needs some time to recharge at his age, and just doesn't enjoy boxing anymore so he has to "get up" for it.
But one reason I have thought about, and this probably isn't the reason, but let's just entertain the thought...is based off his allegations of saying Pac is using PEDs. You see, it is natural to decline with age. Floyd has declined. Pac, not so much. So to Floyd, he may be waiting it out to see if Pac declines a bit to even things up for their match.
Either way, the main point is noticing that once you are on Freddie's hit-list, you are ready for the taken. Like a vulture circling his the soon to be fallen. He knows you are dying fast, do you?
Who will be his next victim?

mayweather doesnt wanna fight when his uncle is wearing a orange jumpsuit dropping the soap and what not
i dont know why not, he was fighting when his crackhead daddy was in the penitentiary

I never understood why you guys post food in threads that you have no interest in...spamming at its finest.
Bradley is unproven on the highest level, this is true, however; he can only be tested on that level by fighting the likes of Pac...and he still is a top tier fighter...and Pac would get credit for beating a prime, live, undefeated, talented fighter. It just wouldn't be like beating a proven fighter that is regarded as an ATG that is in his prime and healthy.
If he fought Williams and Martinez at 154 there would be no excuse for weight-draining.If Pac loses then the flomos can't wait to say...you see? he is overrated! and Pac fans will say he is not really belongs there. It will never end. lol! at someone thinking Pac should fight Williams and Martinez while their pussy/coward God is hiding in the name of retirement. lol!
No fighter of the present age compares to Holyfield and Langford because you set a standard of "perfect" parameters.
There will always be excuses on both sides. If Pac beats Bradley, howls of inexperience will be heard throughout. If he beats Martinez or Williams, complaints of weight draining will haunt him.
Seems like in this era, fighters are less appreciated and ridiculed more despite the intangibles.

Absolutely. I've said this myself.
Disappointed in both of them. Think both are overrated in many ways. Both are still great fighters, don't get me wrong, but overrated by many in many ways.
That's why I did that Holyfield thread not to long ago showing what a fighter is supposed to do with who he fights and not backing down from the toughest challenges. And continue to judge them based on Sam Langford since he is a "P4P" type fighter of the highest caliber. Neither compare.

Voting will not guarantee who is better than the two. Its depend who will vote like Floyd will get zero result if we use Asia as voting place. Well is just a common sense. Look at my sig and fill the blank. It will not take a rocket scientist to figure it out which one is better and greater than the two isn't it? unless you try to twisting it again and blow it out of proportion.
No, it won't. In the end, both are going down as great fighters and it's all a matter of opinion but when you have the choice of asking Pro Boxers/Trainers vs. a bunch of journalist, yeah, I'll take the Pro Boxers/Trainers opinion.
When I watch ESPN I'm not tuning in to hear some journalist talk about the sport. I'm looking for a more reliable knowledge based opinion of the sport from a former/current Pro...whether it be a player or coach/trainer.
Same reason why so many were happy to see Roy Jones Jr. back on HBO schooling his colleagues once again putting things back in order.
The fighters have the right to vote and voice their opinion but Sr. and Roger are going to be bias...just like Roach would for Pac. There is a World Full of qualified boxing people that can give an opinion. Try not to think so shallow.

I think you can argue who is the best boxer out of the two, if they met each other and who would win.
But resume wise Pac is better than PBF. Dont mention the ones Pac lost. Thats got nothing to do with it. That was then, this is now.
Its who Pac beat and how he beat them compared to PBF.
Oh really? So you think pro trainers like Floyd sr. and Roger Mayweather will vote for Pac or fighters like Malignaggi, Campbell, and so on?

Many writers that don't like Floyd anyway because their feelings are hurt. Same type of writers that leave athletes out of the Hall of Fame because their feelings were hurt.
Same type of writers that don't bother to look at the little details that they should be looking at.
I would accept votes from Pro Trainers/Fighters but not some guys that boxes donuts and writes about a sport.
Bert Sugar is not an expert. Maybe you can count him as an historian because he writes about it but he is not an "expert" in boxing. He has never boxed nor trained a fighter nor proven to showcase an I.Q. for boxing compared to others that have.

Nice opinion, but you've said things that are just as true for Floyd.
The bottom line is? Pacquiao is greater than Mayweather by miles no matter how you spin it or turn it upside down. You don't need to ask the flomos wannabe PED experts, wannabe family consultants and wannabe boxing experts. All you have to do is ask these unbiased Floyd's fellow Americans boxing writers association who voted Pac as FOTD instead of him and some credible boxing experts/historians like Bert Sugar and so on.
Just your opinion as well. There are Pro fighters and trainers, both current and former, out there that disagree with you...which means this is all up for debate.
Many writers don't like Floyd anyway because their feelings are hurt. Foyd's ego and promotional ways aren't attractive to many in the media. He'll call them out with their lack of knowledge and they don't like that at all because that makes them "hacks" who shouldn't have a job covering a sport they really don't know.
Same type of writers that leave athletes out of the Hall of Fame because their feelings were hurt.

The world is laughing at PBF for not wanting to show the world he is the best fighter of today let alone of all time.
In his whole career he has never beaten the best fighter in the world. Hes got a chance now and wont take it for 10 million. SOmethings wrong there.
Oscar wasn't shot, he was past his prime when he fought Floyd. And if that is the case for Floyd, imagine how bad he was for Pac with having to move down in weight.
Oscar had Floyd come up to 154. And had Roach in his corner.
And was coming off a KO win over Mayorga.
Against Pac, Oscar didn't look so hot in his previous fight and still had to drop weight for the fight.
Hatton: solid fight. YOu can't argue it. Hatton refused to fight Floyd at 140 so Floyd continued on with his chase of Oscar. Again, fight-time weight Floyd is like Hatton. Against Collazo, Hatton made the mistake by his team's own admission of bulking up for a weight of 157+ for fight-time. This time around, they said the plan was to get him at his normal fight-time weight at JrWW, which means, 149+...which happens to be what Floyd's weight is.
The positive to having at 147/WW now helps make sure both fighters don't have to drop to much weight for the scales and hope, hope they rehydrate properly back up.
JMM: yeah, not the same exact version Pac fought. Pac fought a prime, live, opponent in JMM at his best weight.
Mosley: Past his prime. But at least Floyd fought him unlike Pac.

The TS very good at twisting facts to suite on his own agenda. You see everybody can twist any boxer resume to make it look bad according to his taste. Twisting Floyd resume like his last 4 fights with Oscar, Hatton, JMM and Mosley. Oscar...we all know how shot and past his prime Oscar is when fought Floyd. Floyd just managed a close decision win sensing he might lose next around in rematch turned down the would be the biggest payday of his life. Hatton....we all know Hatton is a light welterweight champ and not belong to welterweight as the Callazo fight showed to us. Floyd saw his perfomance at welterweight asked him to comes up at his own comfort zone. Pussy isn't it? Why not fight him at his own weight class or fight those in your weight category? by then the elite welterweights challenging his ass to fight them but he hide tail in his ass in the name of retirement to avoid them. JMM...we all know JMM is past his prime old lightweight. Why asked him to move up 2-3 divisions above like what he did to Hatton by asking them to leave their comfort zone when there are a lot welterweights willing to fight him? pussy isn't is? Mosley...we all know his fight with Mosley was accidentally, Berto pulling out because of the earthquake. He did not wish it, the same as he doesn't want to fight Pac that is why he came up this useless OST to kill the fight. We all know Mosley going to 39 years old is not the same fighter anymore when he was younger. Don't be fool by guilty as f**ck Margaritos fight. Now Pac agreed to the useless OST, all he can say is... his pussy is not in boxing right now? I can also pick apart his previous opponents like Baldomir, Gatti and the Castillo first fight but its already been done before.

I see it it a bit differently.
I think that Roach has developed a bit of a Fighters-Ego, this really evolved following the Hatton fight, watching Floyd Senior smack-talking to him. He is basically doing what little Floyd does to hype himself up, by downing his opponents and the opposition they have fought.
Except he does it for other fights and fighters he has no connections to. You can ask him a question about other things going on and he can give you a straight answer.
He is pretty honest on many things.
He even said Duran beats Pac.
With Oscar, he called it before the fight and backed it up with why he felt he was hopefully going to be right. He used factual history of events that other fighters did it with weight-loss and coming back down to a division...and his inner-knowledge of Oscar from training him.
And when he talked about Shane, he admitted Shane was to good. And if anything, they would need him to come in at around 142.
With Floyd, at one point, he also wanted Floyd to come in at a "catch-weight" because he wanted to "make him work for it...take something away from him." When he saw he didn't need it anymore, he was Ok with it.
He is always looking for the edge for his fighters. He said so himself.
He'll talk shit like the rest but he'll also give good insight.

An extremely weak bait thread. Which means it'll get tons of replies.
Don't be hurt because it is the truth.
If it wasn't the truth Pac would be fighting someone other than the likes of a post-KO'd Hatton, Cotto, and Margarito. And Roach wouldn't be going around talking about how Floyd is past it.
Or he wouldn't have needed "catch-weights" or made sure people that did beat him have to make a certain weight again even though they are struggling to make it, like Morales was.
But go on.
Doesn't it sound really silly to say that Freddie is cherrypicking the undefeated, supposedly p4p best Mayweather as the next victim? May is not even shot or any other reasons you've stated.
The answer is simply because that is what all the boxing fans in the world would pay to see now. They've became natural enemies because of the media, the fans, and their egos, and who is to blame for wanting to see this fight? They both are most probably each other's final chapter in their boxing career, and they know it.
Its not Pacs fault that May is showing ring rust. May is still in good condition so please don't make it an excuse already. It is just plain silly to say that Team Pac is cherrypicking May right now, don't you think?
Ah, no. Larry Holmes was undefeated when he fought Michael Spinks but that doesn't mean that was the same Larry Holmes at his peak. Just because you are undefeated doesn't mean you haven't decline.
People used to pull the same crap with Hopkins when he lost to Taylor. Many of us who followed Hopkins long before Tito said he was fading as a fighter by the time he got to Taylor...and even before that. When Robert Allen fought him again he even mentioned Hopkins had declined. He should know since he fought him about 10x before. But since Hopkins kept winning that somehow meant he was still 100%. No. It's just guys like them are so great technically they can still fight top talent and win. Except, certain fighters that are younger and have that high athletic edge pose a greater risk to them.
People need to stop thinking just because so and so keeps winning that he is doesn't fall in-line with other human beings and don't age/decline like the rest of us. They do. But the difference is some of these guys are technically sound fighters that they can still rely on that skill unlike fighters like, Roy Jones Jr. for example who once they hit a certain point, start to really decline and since he/they didn't learn all the skills, starts to get lit up.
Let me put it in other context: If we could take the version of each fighter, Pac and Floyd, at 130-135, at their best, Roach is not going to allow Pac to fight Floyd. We all saw what happened with JMM and JMM isn't the fighter that Floyd was in those lower weight divisions.
You think he is just as fast overall, from head to toe, as his days spent in the lower weight divisions from 130-135, or even 140 with what he showed against Gatti?
No way.
