Somebody said it the other day, but I didn't believe him because a) that guy only had a single post b) he didn't have a source.
Rough translation: "Miguel had surgery done on his right shoulder, but it should not have any effect on his performance in a possible rematch against Pacquiao, who is also considering Antonio Margarito as a possible opponent." According to a toprank post on his facebook page.
Jeez, as if his right hand wasn't useless enough already. Sorry if old, maybe I missed a formal thread in the sea of threads humiliating Mayweather.
Cotto's right hand has never been strong compared to his left. I do sometimes wonder if it's because of that car accident he got into. Pac will probably go after Cotto now coming off an injury and try to drain him down to a catch weight.
Update.
Miguel Cotto Operated!

Miguel Cotto, who in his last bout on June 5th captured the WBA 154 lbs. title, was operated recently on his right shoulder. Cotto stated that he will be ready to possibly face Manny Pacquiao for the second time on November 13th.
This is the second time that Cotto is operated on the same shoulder. The first was a couple of years ago when Cotto injured the same shoulder in car accident.
Cotto (35-2, 28KOS) is the first choice for Top Rank’s Bob Arum to face Manny Pacquiao. It was mentioned that Arum spoke with Cotto’s team last monday and with Margarito’s yesterday hoping to have a fight set in stone by the end of the week.
U sure it was during the Foreman fight (did he actually say it)? I thought it was just that old injury acting up. I remember reading somewhere that the reason he fights orthodox despite being a southpaw was because of that car accident.
If the surgery works out, we might see him switching southpaw more often. That would be a longshot though.
well maybe that old injury had something to do, but yes he said in an interview (i don't remember exactly which interview or where i saw it) that he hurt his right shoulder in the foreman fight.
he hurt his shoulder in the second round of the foreman fight. that's why he stopped throwing the right hand. steward has been working a lot to develop the straight right of cotto so he can use it more in a fight. for whatever reason during his career he only focused on the left hook and stopped throwing the right hand.

I also remember the guy that posted this on his first post as well, if he's injured he has no business in either of those fights right now.
Never heard of this..but he was in a pretty bad car accident early in his career and had numerous surgeries performed because of it..
I'm sure it's got something to do with the car accident injury still..
