Why did Mtagwa take JuanMa to the brink? I am just wondering if he get baited into a firefight, can he get out of it? If he boxes he's got a helluva chance against anyone, but when his machismo rises, he leaves himself open. The Mtagwa gave JuanMa hell. 1st JaunMa underestimated him. 2nd he fought a extremely dumb fight. Didn't use his jab well and got drawn into exchanges. 3rd he may have been weight drained i don't know. Now Gamboa destroys Mtagwa. 1st They fought at 126 and Mtagawa weighed in at 122 basically giving up his only potential advantage power and strength. 2nd Gamboa didn't underestimate him. 3rd Gamboa fought a smart fight. I really hope he can get over the Macho factor. . Conciepion did the same thing Penalosa was able to do but with power. Hes gonna get caught again and his power might not bail him out next time.

Juanma is too much for gamboa. Gamboa is fast no doubt but juanma has underrated speed. He catch you with one of his flurries and it's good night for you! Plus juanma faced better oppostion than yuriorkis did. Just because gerry exposed some of juanma's weaknesses in a losing effort (too open when he loads up for a shot therefore counterable with a right cross) doesn't mean you can just go in there and follow that blueprint with your speed and power. You have to be a good counter puncher against juanma to survive early rounds. But even the good counter puincher in luevano and penalosa did not do wonders for them. Yuriorkis is not as good as them in terms of countering. He has great speed and power and has decent boxing skills but imo juanma is more fundamentally sound than yuriorkis is and if he timed yuriorkis right, it might be, yet again, an early win for juanma.

it sucks because once he cleans out the Featherweight division which he is on his way to doing now, taking on Rojas for the WBC belt in december, then what he is he going to do. At 5"5 I personally think he is a little short to move up much further in weight.

Don't forget what Gamboa fought Mtgawa after he went through two wars: one with Villa and one with Lopez. Not to say in any way that Mtgawa beats Gamboa. What I say is that chins get shot, too. They always forget Mtagwa went up a weight class to fight Gamboa. Whose to say his previous one was his limit?

The exciting thing is that both juanma and gamboa show vulnerability. Its the stronger more skilled and more resilient athlete that will win. I feel theire skill and power equals but the handspeed goes to Gamboa as well as the more resilient fighter

People are seriously overrating Mtagwa. Dude lost 14 times and has only really beaten Tomas Villa. He had two good fights in a 40 fight career. Gamboa is good but Mtagwa is hardly great comp. I mean he was virtually shut out by Billy Dib and lost to a ton of guys with not even half the skill of Gamboa. He had the fight of his life against JuanMa and got overrated. I think Barros is a way better win than Mtagwa. None the less he gave Juanma Problems, Gamboa is a whole different animal. Even if it was Mtagwas fight of his life , that doesnt compare to what Gaboa brings. If Concepcion can drop Lopez on the inside than so can Gamboa
