Who started off ordinary and then all of a sudden become extroadanary like Manny Pacquiao? I don't seem to be able to remember anyone who started off an ordinary fighter and then all of a sudden became extroadanary like Pacquiao has done. There have been fighters who had losses early in their career and went on to become very good. The only fighter I know is Cristian Mijares for example lost 3 times early in his career to 3 guys with a combined record of 2 wins, 7 losses and 2 draws. But this was totally different because he was like 16 years old and 2 of the losses were in 4 round bouts. And while Mijares was ranked in the p4p lists at one time and looked impressive, He didnt look invincible like Pacquiao. You could see his vulnerability.
Wheras with Pacquiao he won his first 18 bouts, Became champion but he was still an relatively ordinary fighter. He was of course knocked out by Medgoen Singsurat when he was champion, Outboxed by Erik Morales even though his opponent was clearly declining. Yes Morales only had 2 losses to Barrera but he didnt look the same fighter as he was a few years before. The fights with Barrera took alot out of him. Pacquiao also looked terrible in the 1st Marquez fight aside from the 1st round, but then after that. Something dramatic happened, He moved up several weight divisions and now looks like the terminator!
Has there been anyone else who started off ordinary and then became extroadanary out of nowhere? Please post if you can remember anyone...
I thought after that Marquez KO that was finally it. And how many years later are we now from and he still taking names. Its ****ing insane lol
lol literally *******s were crying after that fight, and then magically Pac resurrected again his career with a win over a walking punching bag named Brandon Rios and now the Manny Pacquiao saga continues with another unbelievable win
wow. can't believe this was post during the year 2010.. It i just mind-blowing what Pac accomplished after 9 years. ****ing 9 years, and to think he might be fighting spence or porter, gives a strong signal to all welters and probably gets another FIGHTER OF THE DECADE AWARD! just wow

I'm not saying he wasnt still a good fighter, He beat Sasakul for the WBC belt but he was getting outboxed before the KO and then got KO'd by Singsurat. I give him credit for beating Barrera but shortly after that he got outboxed badly by Marquez and then beaten up by Erik Morales. But then all of a sudden he moved up to 135, 140, 147 and just started walking through everyone. Of course the Morales fight would have made him train harder, But I dont buy the fact that you can go from being knocked around by Oscar Larios, Marquez and Morales and then just move up and destroy guys that are much bigger than you.
Pacquiao wasnt even a serious puncher at 130 but now at 147 it's like he has huge power. Iv'e never heard of this happen either, When guys move up in weight they always struggle to maintain their power. Wheras Pacquiao just started killing everyone.
Lol are you a boxing fan? You think it's all about power? Theres a reason why most of his KDs get back up.
It’s always nice to look back at old threads like these. This was back when people refused to believe that Pac was actually a special fighter, crazy to see how much has changed over the years. A once in a lifetime fighter and still fighting while proving to his haters that he’s a ATG for a reason. Pac’s legacy is surely getting better overtime.
go to a yardsale or something.

The wonder of PED's
it seems a lot of guys have answered the question for you. just like to add some great fighters who lost early in their careers:
bob foster - great hall of fame light heavyweight champion lost by ko in his 10 fight, lost by UD in his 13 fight, then lost again by ko in his 17th fight. Ended up being one of the best lightheavyweights of all time.
veeraphol sahaprom - great bantamweight lost by tko in his 5th fight will be inducted in the hall of fame as soon as he retires.
jose napoles - great welterweight hall of famer lost in his 8th fight.
tony zale - hall of famer. lost his 10th & 11th fights.
rocky graziano - hall of famer. lost in his 10th fight.
fred apostoli - hall of famer. lost by tko in his 7th fight.
antonio cervantes - hall of famer. lost in his 2nd fight. lost by ko in his 20th fight. similar to the amount of fight that pacman fought when he lost. both lost to guys with similar records.
the list goes on. anything that is being done now by fighters have been done before. boxing has such a long storied rich history, everything has been done before. what pacman is doing is nothing new at all. nothing. its been done before. how can you seriously try to discredit his early losses when his horrible circumstance is common knowledge?
All that matters is what you do in your prime. Who you beat & what you do in your prime means more than who you lost to before your prime & after your prime.
Ask sugar ray robinson & the klitsckho brothers. ray robinson lost a lot of fights after his prime while the brothers lost to ordinary fighters in their prime.
I said ordinary to extroadanary. Losing one fight doesnt make you ordinary. But your post is heavily flawed anyway, Fighters were fighting like 15-20 times per year back then. So it was much easier to lose then than it is now, You couldnt give me one fighter from this era that has done what Pacquiao has done. The Klitschko's the best in their division but they still arent extroadanary. Name me one fighter from 2000 onwards who started off ordinary and became extroadanary. Im waiting...
All the great fighters of this era started off good and remained good or started off good and declined towards the end of their careers. Ricardo Lopez, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Joe Calzaghe, James Toney, Roy Jones, Oscar De La Hoya, Pernell Whitaker, Felix Trinidad, Shane Mosley, Winky Wright and Bernard Hopkins are all examples of my logic.
There is no fighters of this era who have evolved like Pacquiao.

Well Carlos Baldomir, did good to recover his career until Mayweather
so does the ts not want to answer this?
He does not...He is getting choked out in his own topic, and just doesn't care. The kid has backbone, I give him that.
You just killed yourself right there....
Just admit this is just another PED topic. No one will be upset with you. Just admit it.
Let me ask you a question now smart guy: What do you think Manny has done to become so "extraodinary"? Cause you clearly think he is.
Many things....
1. Great match-making
2. Whatever Roach and Ariza are giving him. I suspect it's something pretty strong because he looks like the terminator. And we know it's not legal because if it was they would've agreed to the $40 million drug test.
Pac was never that...Maybe a bit flawed, but never that. Who the hell are you comparing him to anyway?
You know what, I know you don't care (nor should you), but I use to respect you as a poster...You have now just lump yourself in the lot of "pactards" and "flomos"...
You need to wake up dude.
If he was never ordinary then he wouldnt have got KTFO by a guy with a 11-4 record. Forget the "ordinary to extroadanary" thing and just answer this for me real quick.
How did Pacquiao go from being outboxed and beaten up by Juan Manuel Marquez and Erik Morales to walking through Miguel Cotto? Great match-making only gets you so far, Pacquiao walked through Cotto's punches like they didnt hurt him. But just a few year's prior he was getting beaten to a pulp by guys who weigh 20lbs less. How do you suspect he managed that?
The "one handed" thing is just an excuse and I have exposed it many times already. You don't beat guy's like Barrera with one hand, Before the Marquez rematch Roach said "Pacquiao is new and improved, He can use both hands now" but he got beaten up even worse than the first fight. Pacquiao was never a one handed fighter, But he was never a great fighter either. Until Roach and Ariza started filling him with these secretive supplements.
When I asked for an example, I meant a fighter in like the last 10-20-30 years. I havent been alive long enough to know most of the people you mentioned.

How can you call him ordinary when he lost to Morales? Morales was still a damn fine fighter even though he wasn't in his prime.
If you can't see the difference in his style from then to now then I don't know what the hell you want people to say? Look at his use of the right hand in the first fight, almost non existant it's like a tap.
Your knowledge obviously doesn't go far back enough if you can't think of any fighter with an ordinary beginning and and extra ordinary end. Sandy Saddler is an ATG featherweight, lost his 2nd fight by KO then a decision loss not long after, he then went on a long run of wins over no notable opposition before losing a three 10 rounders to different fighters. Then he went on an extrodinary run beating top 10 P4P great Willie Pep 3 times only fighter to stop him (i think), stopped Flash Elorde, beat Teddy Davis, moved up in weight and won the Super FW title from Orlando Zulueta those Elorde and Pep are ATG's and those are just the cream of his accomplishments.
Similar stories in Fritzie Zivic and Joey Maxims careers but Fritzie Zivic had ALOT of losses before he became a champion beating Henry Armstrong for the title (who also had a bad start before becoming a legend)

Nobody has given me a real example yet. I have heard Hagler but he lost close decisions in the other guys hometown. Someone mentioned Mayorga but he never became "extroadanary". As of yet nobody has been able to mention anyone who went from being ordinary to extroadanary like Pacquiao has done.

People ahve given you plenty of examples, but you don't really care...Do you? YOu should really just let this topic die already. Really, you should.
