**Mayweather's camp thinks Floyd should face Cotto if fight with Pac doesn't happen**

this is a very interesting match up, i'll favor floyd 51-49 to win this fight.

Yeah, fight Cotto now when he's clearly past his prime. Floyd could have fought him when Cotto was a beast who was dominating the WW division, but that chance is long gone. I'd just like to see him just fight a great fighter who is in their prime, such as MANNY PACQUIAO. "I mean, if I was him, I would fight Cotto. You know why? You know why I would fight Cotto? Only simply because one reason—Pacquiao whooped Cotto, right? Cotto had a win over Shane Mosley. The fight was very close, but regardless of that, I would fight Cotto simply because then people would say, hey why don’t he fight the guy?" WTF does that even mean? Goddamn crack head doesn't even make any goddamn sense. So he's saying he would make the fight because some people said "hey, he should fight that guy"? People have been saying that about Manny Pacquiao so why don't you make that fight instead?

I would like to see Floyd Jr take on Miguel Cotto. If you remember, Cotto has stated in the past that Floyd Jr has intentionally ducked him in the past. Cotto has publicly questioned Mayweather's courage and pension for picking 'easy' fights...... I don't think, because Manny Pacquiao defeated Miguel Cotto, that Floyd Mayweather Jr would easily defeat Miguel. In fact, I think Miguel would match up better with Floyd Jr than he did with Manny. And, just because Miguel defeated Shane Mosley, doesn't mean that Floyd jr will defeat Miguel. However, I do think these are factors as to why a Miguel Cotto fight with Floyd Jr makes sense. In fact, it would probably make more sense for Miguel to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr instead of a rematch against Manny Pacquiao. It would be easier for Floyd Jr to come up to 154 and face Miguel than Manny. If Miguel were to defeat Floyd Jr, then a rematch with Manny would be even bigger. Which, would benefit both fighters financially. And, since Floyd Jr won't fight for Miguel's title, Manny will still have a chance to take on Miguel for a the historical world title in 8 different weight classes. Conclusion Despite the logic for Floyd Jr fighting Miguel Cotto, I don't see it happening. Floyd Jr won't fight again until next year. What I would like to see in the meantime is Cotto fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Manny take on Antonio Margarito. And if Manny and Miguel win, then one of the two will take on Floyd Mayweather Jr next year. Obviously, the preference would be Manny. But, if Manny and Floyd fails to happen in early 2011 then a Manny vs. Cotto fight would be more appealing especially if Cotto defeats Chavez Jr. Once again, Floyd is looking to get at shot fighters.. :rofl:

07 Cotto, I think would have given him hell. The Cotto of present, I'm not so sure about. I'd like to see him in one or 2 more fights with Stewart before I completely write his chances off though.

cotto should not fight pac or floyd. he'll get his butt kicked. he needs to fight margo. but if cotto really wants it, I say give it to him.

Then floyd will have Cotto to choose to use either grant or winning gloves when clearly Cotto uses Reyes gloves.

Was an attractive fight in 2008. Not so much anymore. Cotto would get beat up. Again, unless Cotto beats a Margarito or a Berto convincingly and shows serious improvement, he needs to stay away from the top two dogs.

Its still a fight i'd like to see.. I dont know why more people arent trying to make this fight happen instead if the Pac fight falls through.. This fight should have happened years ago... Before Floyd retired. Thats in the past, I dont know about you but I think this fight can still be fun and I don't mind seeing pac beat the crap out of margarito even though I dont believe margs can make 147 safely. I've given up on may-pac, hopefully each of them taking smaller fights will force the promoters to make improvements on the undercards instead of the usual garbage we get for big fights.
