I can just about remember watching this fight when i was around 9 and that is the only time I watched it but i could've sworn he had trouble with sosas speed not his strength?
It had a lot to do with both. Although Sosa wasn't in Mayweather's level, Sosa really did come with it. Just one of those cases.
It was after Corrales.
The Gatti fight was at 140 and in 2006. Hamed was done and around 200 pound during that time.
OH OK I knew it was after one of those fights
Meh, I don't know. Sosa and JLC were able to outmuscle him. That could have been due to size, or maybe the level of opposition. Just that when he moved up to 140, he packed on a lot of muscle and got way more physical with his opponents. I don't think Castillo could have bullied Mayweather at 140, the way he did at 135. I see Mayweather standing his ground.

Did you forget the Castillo rematch is the question.
Yes Floyd clearly won the rematch. But, it wasn't a dominant performance ala Corralaes, Shane, or even Oscar. Even though he clearly won with no questions asked and put all doubts to rest. It was still one of his toughest fights of his career.
Yes Castillo holds a draw and a close win over Johnston. I personally scored both fights for Johnston. But, it was close not a robbery Castillo got the decision so is all good.
However, Johnston is a way different fighter than Castillo. Different style. Fact is, Johnston was skilled and a top rated fighter. Who was willing to fight Floyd. And, I will say at 135 Johnston was better than Augustus/Burton, Sosa, and Ndou. And, again was willing to fight Floyd. So I wouldn't say Floyd put fear in people at 135 as you tried to insinuate. Maybe at 130 and 140 but not at 135.
He was feared at 147 when he first came not because of what he did at 47 just being an amazing talent.
I agree that he was more dominant at 140 than 135. Also maybe cuz he fought tougher guys at 135?

lol, did u 4get jlc. sure he looked bad in the 1st fight, but he still proved he was the dominant force in that division. and i remember u bringing up johnston and spodafora in the past, but lets not act like castillo wasnt above johnston.

He did struggle with Sosa, and JLC did give him a hard time in the rematch. Personally, Mayweather was a better Jr WW then he was a LW. He became more experienced on the inside, a lot stronger too. Just got more physical with his opponents.

At 135? I mean only one fight showed true dominance and that was against Phillip Ndou who wasn't even ranked in the top 10 at 135. And, I wouldn't consider Stevie Johnston as being scared of Floyd.

man ppl dnt understand how dominant floyd was at 130 and 135. he literally had ppl scared to move into those weight classes. the guy was a beast. him and mosely at 135 would have been something to behold.

mayweather would school him even worse than what barrera did
i wish there was a rematch, maybe naz wud have went in better prepared and with a better defensive plan. he just couldnt handle the loss i guess. plus i heard he didnt like spending time away from his family in trainig camps and stuff.
Eh.
The bad thing for Hamed is that Mayweather had real power at featherweight.
Floyd by clean KO. Easy. Hamed never even lays a hand on him, he's just beat to a ****ing pulp.
Mayweather called out Naseem, Larry Merchant even told Mayweather "Naseem is not going to fight you" I think it was the interview after he destroyed Gatti
ye it was after the corrales fight, first call out in this clip,
