Andre Ward still enjoys the services of ex-con and former CEO of BALCO Victor Conte aka the godfather of PED's in the US.
So earlier reports of Conte being fired by Ward was false.

PS: Thanks to Burner for directing my attention to the article. Unfortunately I cannot respond in his thread because he, for whatever reason, has me on iggy.
I don't think a tragedy is needed. The keys are the broadcasters. If they suspect the sport isn't pure and the public doesn't want to see cheaters they will refuse to broadcast.
That was the road taken by major networks in Europe in the wake of massive PED scandals in cyclling (Tour De France). So now there is a groundbreaking system in place with where-about-schemes and random testing. It's not bulletproof at all, but we're getting there.
Well that was Europe and cycling, here in the Americas we need a fkin mega tsunami to literally wash grandma away before we will get off of our asses to fix anything. Especially when lots of money is involved. I assume ped testing will be instated about the same time America kicks it's addiction to oil and tarball beaches. basically dont hold your breath unless your inhaling some very good stuff.
So you have no problem with Ward employing Conte?
Don't bother... Roy Jones JR is also considered top 10 ATG in America even though he's a cheat... America is almost like the old eastern germany...
him and every other boxer out there. Until they have a real testing program nothing surprises me and none of these guys are above suspicion. It is simple human nature to seek an advantage, but as the article from Frank Warren stated the guys caught cheating, even Mosley whom I like, should not go into the HOF.
Just curious how many years before boxing tries to implement a real system?
My guess it ill take a very public tragedy to force a change and even then that may not be enough.

All I want is a level playing field. Untill there's random testing before world title fights fighters will be under the microscope and Ward looks bad here.
It could simply be that CONTE really is that good and knows the human anatomy that well.
I mean he knows contes history so to me WARD doesnt look suspicious, as it would be obvious to think hes using when he stated personally hes behind mayweather in clean fighting and better testing.
Ok so he is with Conte but I have no reason to believe Ward is on anything. He's always been a very good boxer, He didnt just start off ordinary and then all of a sudden become extroadanary like Pacquiao.
What do you think about Ward's camp seeing that Kessler was stacking his gloves, using excessive amounts of tape and gauze and had to rewrap them?
Why not make a thread about that and adress the topic that is in this thread instead of trolling it?
I am a convicted criminal. I would hope that Andre Ward would work with me if he thought I was the best at what I did.
As for the second part I don't think anyone has been able to provide a link to Ward claiming he was no longer working with Conte.
Also, Conte is not part of Ward's "Team" in the way that Alex Ariza is for Pacquiao. He has not been and never has been hands on involved in Ward's training. He designed a plan for Andre Ward like any normal person doing his job would do. Ward also takes any number of perfectly legal supplements from Conte's company that you or I or anyone else in the world could take.
"Working with" someone can mean a lot of things. I doubt Andre Ward and Victor Conte interact at all anymore, but if Ward is still endorsing Conte's perfectly legal products then you could say they were "working together".
The fact that you repeatedly refer to Conte as a member of Ward's team shows how far you are going to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
April 24 Conte said:
What is your relationship with heavyweight contender, Eddie Chambers, in relation to SNAC?
My relationship with Eddie Chambers is ongoing and it's still very good.
Wasn't there at least one other prominent boxer you worked with in regard to SNAC?
Well, there was Andre Ward, but I'm no longer working with Andre.
Now we know that he still works with Andre.
The link is here:

Satisfied?
Oh please............ Give me a break.
Can't you see the shady behaviour? Why work with a convicted criminal in the first place? Why then claim he was fired before a major fight when after the fight it becomes known that Conte is still part of his team? Doesn't that look shady to you?
What if it was not Victor Conte but Panama Lewis? I never understood why Lewis received a permanent ban from working with athletes in the US, while Conte is free to work with anybody despite him cheating with more athletes in more sports. :nonono:

I agree. Bat is still butt-hurt that Ward whupped Kessler.
:booty:
This topic isn't about Eric Morel.
It's about legalizing drugs and Bat being butt-hurt.
Bat is just upset about the 11-0 shut out.
Let it go bro, I didnt see you trying to bring Cal down when he beat Kessler, dont soil your good name, youre better than this.
Manny Pac moves from 106-147 lbs and wins World Titles in X amount of weight classes...
I can see how that might lead people to believe he is on something.
Andre Ward, on the other hand, a guy who is fighting at a weight 10 lbs less than the weight he won a Gold Medal at Olympics 6 years ago, makes absolutely no sense.
Then again, everyone knows exactly why Bat made this thread.
There is no logic, nor is there any evidence. Just a lone fan on a mission to undermine a monumental victory by the best young fighter in the sport.
Notice that even though this article was specifically about Nonito Donaire and had little to say about Ward there was no criticism of Donaire by the threadstarter.
Gary Shaw might be crazy, but he isn't insane. He knows Ward is a clean fighter just like he knows his guy is. He isn't taking part in a useless witch hunt that only serves to undermine the sport.
Oh please............ Give me a break.

And, people should also be smart enough that the cheaters are always ahead of the testers. So there is no guarantee that a cheater will be busted within a week even though he cheated in the passed. Since that cheater knows a lot and is smart create something that is undetectable... He has done it before can't do it again? WTF? Of course he is going to make comments on how to beat the test... Look exactly he made comments on how to beat the test... And, at the same time make in it seem like he is legit to get his clientele back so he could make money. I mean if you think about it is a good con.
Conte can't create anything illegal because he can't even take a piss without the Feds coming into the bathroom stall and testing it.
I bet his laboratory gets a nice Federal Turn Down Service and a thorough examination on a pretty regular basis.
Unless you really believe he is sitting in a secret underground lair cooking up illegal steroids by candlelight I don't see the point of even going down that road.
People obviously have no idea how long it takes to create a designer steroid including research and development. Conte could never get halfway through the job without getting busted these days.
Christ in heaven, these guys don't just combine 6 different GNC Vitamins and call it "The Clear".
And people should also be smart and realize that Conte is under 10x more scrutiny than anyone else in his field of work.
While everyone is whining about the people who work with Conte being cheaters there are 100 guys out there working with shady characters who have never been busted and see no reason to follow the rules until they are.
If Conte does something illegal today, he will be busted for it within a week.
His comments on drug testing and the ease with which tests can be beaten show his desire to force the people who are working illegally back onto an even playing field with him.

Again, Ward should be smart enough to know what comes in the table when you bring Conte.
People(fans) should be smart enough to know that the cheaters are always ahead of the testers. And, that Conte is really good at what he does legal or illegal...
Saying all that I think Ward is clean...
But, the double standards in this place is laughable.
I think Ward is clean,...
But, I laugh at the double standards that some of these posters have.
You right, is not a good look. He is smart and he should know associating with Conte what it will bring.
