Toney was never an elite heavyweight and he never won a belt.
He blatantly ducked Wlad and then fought Peter for less money.
Toney is a punk ass bitch.
Showing your lack of knowledge of 90s HWs again and HW that aren't the Klitschkos.
If a thread involves a 90s HW you should stay out, all you've done is just embarrassed yourself so far.
TONEYS BEST WIN AT HEAVY WAS A SHOT HOLYFIELD..sam peter out boxed him for gods shake..and even did the ali shuffle at the end..and that was like 4 years ago..
His best win was his superb, non-steroid enhanced decisioning of John "ATG" Ruiz.
Wlad kind of lowballed him when they were going to fight before, but youre being given the chane to fight for the heavyweight title of the ****ing world, why is money an issue???? Get that title, and you'll have all the money you want.
1.5M? Are you kidding me? I've seen tomato cans get better offers from the Klitschkos. Toney was an elite HW with a belt, and a bigger name than both of them.
He needs to chill right now though. There's no way in hell he beats them at this age. Maybe he'd have a chance years ago, but definitely not anymore. Heck, he could very well have lost years ago too.
Toney's record at heavyweight is horrible. His knockout ratio at heavyweight is something like 20 percent. He lost ALL his big fights. Toney had no real "belt" because he cheated in the fight with Ruiz.
I find it funny how many people are saying that Toney couldn't beat the Klitsckos in his "current state". Are you all implying that Toney was ever in a state were he could have beaten one or both of them? Because that is just plain comical.
hahahaahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahaha TONEY IS FUNNY, I LOVEEEEE THIS GUY!!!
HE IS THE MANNNNNNNNNNN
AND HE LOOKS IN GREAT SHAPE, YOU CAN TELL FROM HIS FACE!!!!!!! DAMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Toney is funny as hell :lol1:.
And Steelhammer, give it a rest. Everbody knows James Toney is just desperate for a big payday, he is calling out everybody these days.
Toney Turns Down $ 1.5 Mil Offer For Klitschko Fight
06.06.06 - By Matt Stein: For many people, a fight between James Toney (69-4-3, 43 KO's) and Wladimir Klitschko, the IBF heavyweight champion, would seem to be a match made in heaven. However, as the saying goes, ‘good things never come easy,’ which is the case for the making of a fight between Wladimir and Toney. Apparently, from all accounts, Toney isn't particularly interested in fighting Wladimir (46-3, 41 KO's) for a mere $1.5 mil, saying, in part, he's not interested in that "chump change," and is leaning more towards fighting the winner of Hasim Rahman and Oleg Maskaev for the WBC heavyweight title, which takes place on August 12th..
No that i think Toney would win in his current state.....but $1.5 million?? are u fukking kidding me.....that's a low ball offer if there ever was one....
