GL: What's the latest and greatest? Is there any update on your next opponent?
TB: "I'm not sure yet. I'm not sure what my promoter has planned. I saw that fight last night and Devon Alexander looked good and that fight looks pretty nice to me. It should be my next fight."
GL:: Devon was on ********** earlier saying the same thing. They're ready to make it happen in June or asap.
Timothy Bradley: "Let's do it. The money has be right, we definitely have to put this fight on HBO. It's a huge fight and I"m sure Showtime is going to show us love because it's a big fight, but like I said, it's all about the numbers from this point on, but I'm willing to fight him with no problem."
Now what did Cunningham/Team Alexander do after this interview? They came on BoxingScene and started talking s**t for the next four months and accuse him of ducking. Did they call Gary Shaw? No. Did they try to call ANYONE from Team Bradley? No.
Let's pause for a second. I have a question for you guys. Is it ever possible to negotiate a fight through BoxingScene interviews? No. It didn't work with Judah-Spinks so why does Cunningham think it'll work now? Now let's resume to the facts.
The clock was ticking, and Timmy did have a June date scheduled since like last year so he had no choice but to look elsewhere. But the thing is, he could have easily dropped Abregu for Alexander (like he did for the Maidana bout). But what did Alexander do afterwards? Signed for an August date. That completely ruined the possibility of the fight. If you don't believe me and want more interviews, I'll be happy to give you an entire timeline of information as proof.
But wait! You're probably thinking "Wait, Bradley's last fight was in December, so couldn't this unification have been made before Alexander-Urango was signed?". Again, the same exact thing happened. Team Alexander was completely quiet up until Alexander-Urango was signed. That's when Alexander came out and said "You could have fought me". But where was he when Bradley was calling out Ortiz, Khan, Maidana, etc and all of them were declining?
Aside from when Bradley had two mandatories, they NEVER tried to get the fight. And at that time, Alexander's best win was DeMarcus Corley while Nate Campbell was coming off of an impressive win over Ali Funeka. Team Bradley had no choice but to make the better financial situation and vacate one belt. I bet any money that if Bradley had fought and beat Alexander instead of Campbell, everyone would say he ducked Campbell.
Yes, they are. But Team Alexander needs to stop acting like girls, and the fans need to stop acting like Bradley is ducking when he's the one who wanted it in the first place. And when they do fight, it'll actually be worth something.
dont even sweat it wen they fight bradleys punchin rate a b way 2 much 4 alexander lol trust
My point exactly! These guys are two very skilled champions with the potential to take the throne when Manny and Floyd retire. So why not make their fight worth something? Both of them deserve that. Khan should have to do some work. Roach said that he'd like to have him fight Maidana in December, and then unify with Bradley, so let's see that happen too. Or maybe when Devon's King contract expires, he can fight Khan and Bradley can fight Berto, and then the winners meet up.
Any way you cut it Alexander-Bradley should be the fight that happens last for all the belts. I would prefer to see Bradley-Khan and Alexander-Maidana with the winners facing off.
To let Bradley-Alexander unify 3 of them and then give a shot to that joke Khan who did not even earn his first title shot would be a disgrace to the belts.
This fight can and should marinate for awhile.
Both guys are superior to Khan, he should be fed to one of them to build appeal for a Bradley-Alexander fight. Sadly it seems that most fans think Bradley and Alexander should beat each other up so that Amir Khan can be overpaid to have his ass kicked by the winner in a huge unification fight he really did nothing to earn.

What Alexander should have did was call out Tim Bradley by name live on HBO directly after he destroyed Juan Urango, I don't know why many fighters don't make the most out of interviews after the fight b/c its the last impressions most fans will remember until the next time we see them in the ring.
I forgot who Tyson fought the night of that crazy interview about wanting Lennox Lewis but it doesn't matter b/c he did more than get his point accross and the ferociousness of that interview made the news and all media outlets the next day. Needless to say that fight was made immediately and Lennox an HBO fighter while Tyson was fighting almost exclusively on Showtime at that time.
I agree 100%, are all these fighters controlled by their Promoters, guys need to start calling other fighters out LIVE like Mosley did with Mayweather, people probably thought Mosley was wrong for doing it but Mosley sure did get the fight he wanted and the biggest payday of his career
CLOSED MOUTH DON'T GET FED! Start calling these fighters out publicly and not in just some written interview in which most people don't read ANYWAY, if Bradley beats Abregu then after the fight he should just go off on everybody in the division ESPECIALLY KHAN!
I am actually a big fan of BOTH but I am a SLIGHTLY bigger fan of Alexander, but Bradley has made statements about HBO not offering enough Money to fight Alexander right now so CLEARLY it was some type of thought or TALKS at least, but Bradley and Alexander was ready to jump into that 140 tournament so clearly those guys are not afraid to fight each other
only ducker in that division to me is Con...I mean Khan, I agree with Bradley 100% when he says the Money is not their to fight Alexander right now, to me that has potential to be a HUGE fight if they can take out the rest in the 140 division and meet up for that ultimate show down, the only problem is actually getting rest of the fighters in the division to actually FIGHT...well actually getting Golden Boy Protection to actually allow their 140 fighters to fight the best in their division
all this Bradley is ducking sh*t is coming from Khan fans who are trying to cover up the fact that Khan himself is doing the REAL Ducking, that bitch would rather go fight some one older or smaller instead of fighting the guys in his division, but yet Roach wants to run his mouth about "who is Alexander?" and how Khan can beat any of those guys but yet they are not making any effort to actually fight any of those fighters
I KNOW Bradley and Alexander is the BEST fights at 140, most Publications and Rankings have them listed at #1 and #2 in their division, Khan is a f*ckin paper champion, he came and took a title from Dmitriy Salita, a fighter I personally never heard of until he fought Khan and I don't even know how Salita got the title that he had, but Khan KO's him in seconds and now everyone is hyping him up lol
I honestly don't know why Bradley said that HBO didn't put enough money up. Either he made a mistake or he was just going on in the situation and that just came out, but no money was put up by HBO. Cunningham also confirmed that. He might have been referring to when ShoTime put up 150k for it and accidentally said HBO, I have no clue. That was stupid on his part.
And I agree about the whole Khan and Roach situation. I hope Devon gets away from Don King once his contract expires so Roach won't be able to say anything about that. And if Devon KOs Kotelnik like I think he will since he'll take more chances than Khan, he won't be able to say "Whose Devon?" because we'll be able to say the guy who finished the job the right way.

I know Diaz and Bradley personally. I wouldn't have posted this thread if I didn't know that information. And there's even an interview where Bradley himself said Alexander had his chance, but instead of contacting them he signed for the August date.
And don't you think Cunningham would have said something about that? Aside from the Mayweathers, Yoel Judah, Roach and a few others, he's one of the most vocal trainers out there. He'd be more than happy to tell the world Shaw and Bradley aren't trying to talk.

You don't know that Alexander's people did not approach Bradley..
That's the bottom line.

This is from March though. I have to believe that there was some communication made post urango/post maidana pullout.
Either way, both guys deserve until after their next fights to be judged regarding whom is trying not to fight whom
That's the thing. Cunningham is that type of guy. He did the same thing back when Judah-Spinks was anticipated. If there were any actual talks, I'd know about it because I'm close with the team. I'm not saying Alexander is ducking him either. In fact, I know he's not. Both guys want the fight. But Cunningham is acting like a diva and worrying about one guy instead of Devon's career as a whole, and acts like he has negotiating power when he's just a trainer.

there gonna fight eventually anyway.....
