Quick question, put all your personal feelings aside regarding your favourie fighters (you know who im talking about), do you think there should be better testing in boxing? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yep, as long as Mayweather isn't the one making the rules, there should be stricter testing. I'll never understand why Mayweather wants Pac tested, but every other person he fights, and every person fighting on his undercard don't have to be tested. That's my outlook on things.
im not talking about mayweather pacquiao, im talking about stricter testing for all fights.
What do u mean as long as it dont interfere? Of course it will interfere, who would want to fight a boxer that just tested dirty before fight night. Once the stricter testing is implemented, Yes it will be a drought of fights cause the test will weed out the dirty fighters which will be almost the majority of boxers. Just think about it, people think Pacquiao is suspicious then what about the boxers that got caught that didnt even raise a red flag(JCC Jr, and Ali Funeka). Once they step it up to USDA or even 365 all year round testing, you will see all those spectacular boxers and fights we all fell in love with were just souped up animals.
as long as it doesnt interfere with the fighting...the boxing. think about what im saying. as long as you dont have the fights being cut down from 1000 a year to 500, as long as you dont have things changing. from 3 minute rounds to 2. if you change something like this that for the most part has worked, then should you change other things that have worked? maybe youll want to stop the praying in the ring beacause it gives you an unfair advantage....as long as it doesnt affect the fighting as a collective whole...obviously im not talking about one or two specific cases..whats important is the fighting and the enjoyment that the viewers receive.
And on a sidenote we all know who brought this whole thing up....lil man Floyd. yeah, the mans an incredible talent. theres no arguing that. he went 39-0 with no gripe, with no complaining. tell me why that is? no one seems to bring this up...why? is it because pacquiao is beating dudes left and right? or is it because hes doing it in a way he couldnt. why did no one ever accuse mayweather of using steroids? when he moved up in weight and still couldnt be beat, how come no one said anything? on one fighting floyd ever asked him to be tested...they had no reason to doubt that his skills were god given, did they? but floyd is different, right? hes the "special" one with the god given ability. hes the one that gets to call all the shots. everyone abides by his rules all the people agree with the opinion of one man. why didnt anyone else accuse manny od steroids before floyd? not even marquez who had a bitter rivalry accused him until floyd did...its hysterical. at least to me it is...because if anyone whould accuse him it would be floyd. theeman with the self procalimed god given ability would be the man to doubt another who claims he has the same god given ability. funny, people anre funny.
Boxing should have as good a testing standard as any other sport, or even better testing, because people are putting their lives on the line and any form of cheating in this sport is dangerous. I think heavy bans should be handed out and believe that Margarito should have gotten more than a year out amongst other things.
as long as it doesnt interfere with the fighting, with whats really important...the boxing.

Absolutely!! And I think it should also be "standardized" All state/country/organization should have the same banned substance, systems list .We can't have one body allow something that the others don't.
If it's his fight card, and he's promoting the fights, he certainly can do that.
Regardless I'm agreeing that there should be stricter rules for testing as long as Mayweather doesn't dictate who does and doesn't get tested and what those testing rules are.
He cant force 10 fighters on a card to take tests. Its not feasible.
As the poll reflects and I think everyone will agree this is of course necessary. Whether it will happen or not is a different story because we all know how much money is at risk when people pop on these tests. I think that's the main reason you're not seeing it implemented sooner or at all.
Its so laughable how people think that if OSDT doesn't happen for the WHOLE sport RIGHT NOW, then they are not with it. When the news of Arthur Abraham doing this testing surfaced, the whole "no one is doing this testing" stuff was DEAD in the water. Nothing bad can come from better testing of the boxers in this sport. Well...
Floyd can't make every fighter on "his" card take tests. Its a contract thing.

If Floyd wants everyone tested, and yes you're right he made Mosley test, he should want EVERYONE who fights to be tested. That includes people fighting on an undercard of a fight that he is partially promoting. It's hypocritical to say, yeah I have my fighters tested but in a fight card that my company is part of, I don't make everyone else test.

um..didnt he just get mosley tested..and wtf does floyd have to do with the undercards??is he suppose to pay for them to get tested aswell??is he fighting them???i dont understand why people keep mentioning undercards..lol
Floyd is partially the promotor for his fights. If he's making the rules, they should apply to fights he promotes as well. LOL.
My opinion it that the people who create PEDs are constantly coming up with more effective and harder to detect forms of it, so the ways of detecting them should constantly be evolving as well.

No one wants someone to be cheating and a modern death to happen in the ring, a death better not happen before people realize there needs to be stricter rules against cheating

Look at it like this Floyd put that into his contract. He also had Shane tested as well. He also said that EVERY body he fights has to be tested.
Its no different than Pac doing catch weights or putting weight penalties on fighters: Oscar was 3 Million, Morales was Million, Cotto was 900k and Floyd's was.........
10 Million. I dont see alot of people criticizing Pac for that to be fair.
